Glad Tidings of Good Things

A couple of days ago I found out some information about someone who has been a great influence in my life.  The information shocked me, as it was hard to believe. I was angry for a time, confused and a little desperate. 

This morning I found the joy and peace of the Lord very unexpectedly on another blog. And when I read the words written there this scripture came to my mind.

The moment profoundly impacted me and I was again reminded of the great unfailing love and perseverance of our Lord so often found in unsuspected places in His own people.

Here is the scripture.  May it remind you, as it did me, the blessing of good news and bring renewed hope to you as one who brings peace and glad tidings of good things.

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news,
Who proclaims peace,
Who brings glad tidings of good things,
Who proclaims salvation,
Who says to Zion,
“Your God reigns!”
Your watchmen shall lift up thier voices,
With thier voices they shall sing together;
for they shall see eye to eye
When the Lord brings back Zion.
Break forth in joy, sing together,
You waste places of Jerusalem!
For the Lord has comforted His people,
He has redeemed Jerusalem.
The Lord has made bare His holy arm
In they eyes of all the nations;
And all the ends of the earth shall see
The salvation of our God.      Isaiah 52:7-10
