Of No Reputation

What do people think of me when I speak the truth? I must consider these words from Philippians 2:5-9:

5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

  1. Amen, we must very dearly consider these words : “Let this mind be IN YOU which was also in Christ Jesus…”

Our LORD never went seeking out His own glory, or profit, or advantage.Never maneuvered His way into anything. It was His Father who glorified Him. If we have the same mind, then the Holy Spirit will glorify the Father and the Son IN US, and in our assembly.

    • hehe. Not lately. How gallant of you! 🙂
Actually, this hit me when I was reading the testimonies on your blog, considering their experiences, mine, the loss of so-called friends, etc. It made me think of all Jesus gave up for a gang of sinners!

  2. Wounded believers know something about persecution….but not until they truly understand the reasons for it, and whether it was righteous or unrighteous suffering. I’ve experienced both, and now I think I begin to welcome suffering for righteousness’ sake….when I’m pretty sure that’s what it was…heh heh

  3. I have a question for you. You have said alot of things about Kenneth Hagin could you please give me just one example of where you believe He is out of line in His teaching.

    • T,
Have you ever done any research on word of faith doctrines? Hagin is considered to be the father of this teaching which was taken from another who was not a Christian and used as his own. There are many things Hagin taught and Rhema still does to this day that are not grounded in the word of God. Here is a good place to start – Aside from that, the best thing for all of us to do is to take the teaching and compare it with the bible. The things Hagin taught are still around today in great force. However, we will not find these in the bible.

      • Yes.. I have done some research on the word of faith doctrines and yes I know that Hagin is the father of these teachings but I also know that alot of pastors distorted what Hagin taught and he rebuked them. I also know that EW Kenyon (blood covenant) was into new age before he became a believer, is he the one who you are referring too?

I just wanted to know if you could give me an one example of what Kenneth Hagin has said that has caused great concern.
The reason I ask is because I am listening to his sermons on the utube and find his sermons challenging and uplifting.

I appreciate that you have written me back I just need an example so I can bring it to the Lord.

        Thank you so kindly

          • Hi M’Kayla,
I watched the utube channel that you attached but unfortunately it was a quick blup, just an very small excerpt from his preaching so I wasn’t able to listen to his full sermon. Is there another utube that you can send me so I can get Hagin’s FULL message about this subject.

I do know that Jesus had to be baptized to start His ministry. I do know that on the cross, Jesus cried out Father- Father why have you forsaken me at the precise moment he took on the sins of man which separated Jesus from the Father both physical and spiritual but wasn’t Jesus shed blood for the atonement of humanity which includes the human side of Jesus? Just a question.
            John 1:14

Please explain according to the Word. I am very excited to read your imput. I have walked with the Lord for 42 years and I am very much enjoy the fellowship. I find it very thought provoking and has forced me deeper into the Word.

            I can’t wait for your response…thank you!

            • T, you stated earlier that you listened to him so you must be aware of these teachings in their depth. I’m not going to do research for you. I don’t have the time. And like I said, if you compared his teachings to the bible you will find them to be outside truth. He is well documented as a false teacher.

              • Wow….I thought this beautiful site that you created was to help believer’s through the truth and to have fellowship through the word…am I missing something? The utube connection you sent me about Hagin was just a short blub and I just wanted to know if you had a better connection where his whole sermon was preached so I could listen to it.
I only asked for help. I just thought that you were more of an expert on this subject.
When I read your email you just send to me I felt hurt by your abruptness. Yes I can do the research but I only wanted the fellowship as your other bloggers.

Thank you for your time and I will not bother you again.

                • T, This is silly. I’m not being abrupt, aside from the fact I was at work on lunch and didn’t have much time. Let’s review. I sent you a link to some great resources which you dismissed and asked for specifics. I sent you a short video which made three very great points to point you in a research direction. You dismissed that as well. Clearly, you haven’t even tried to work on this, tho I have given you the “how to’s”. Being believers we all have the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the bible. We have many great resources that provide deeper understanding, such as Strongs, online and in print. There is no excuse for any of us to not to the work of the “Berean”. I don’t take this lightly, as I believe the time to understand may be drawing to a close. If you chose to remain in the dark and sing the praises of Hagin you may well find yourself faced with the question of who you are following. Because the teachings of Christ through God’s word are not the teachings of Hagin and Rhema. Years back I went through his mail order program and I used to attend a Rhema church. So I am speaking from experience. You go do the work, which is your calling and let me know what you find out. You will see the truth if you are willing to look.
