Finally Found! The Roots of the Seven Mountains Mandate

I’ve been wondering for a very long time where the teaching of the “Seven Mountains” came from. Because I first heard it from the original NAR group – Peter Wagner, Chuck Pierce and Cindy Jacobs I thought maybe it was Peter Wagner.  Over the last few years I’ve watched Lance Wallnau become quite a well-known teacher on this topic although I have never sat and listened to him for very long. So, while I have been aware of this  – prophecy-mandate-movement-doctrine – I’ve never understood exactly from where it originated. And you know me, I like to know the roots of stuff.

This end times “take dominion over the earth” is taught by a large group all over the world, namely the NAR, and you have heard it referred to as domininon theology or kingdom now theology. Even after all my reading and research I continued to wonder where the teaching originated. Recently I came across an interview of Loren Cunnngham, Youth With A Mission (YWAM) and realized I finally found the roots. (yay!)

Following is a clip from the transcript of an interview with Loren Cunningham;  its entirety can be found here Reclaiming the Seven Mountains of Culture.

It was August, 1975.  My family and I were up in a little cabin in Colorado.  And the Lord had given me that day a list of things I had never thought about before.  He said “This is the way to reach America and nations for God.  And {He said}, “You have to see them like classrooms or like places that were already there, and go into them with those who are already working in those areas.”  And I call them “mind-molders” or “spheres”.  I got the word “spheres” from II Corinthians 10 where Paul speaks in the New American Standard about the “spheres” he had been called into.  And with these spheres there were seven of them, and I’ll get to those in a moment.  But it was a little later that day, the ranger came up, and he said, “There is a phone call for you back at the ranger’s station.”    So I went back down, about 7 miles, and took the call.  It was a mutual friend who said, “Bill Bright and Vonnette are in Colorado at the same time as you are.  Would you and Darlene come over and meet with them? They would love to meet with you.”  So we flew over to Boulder on a private plane of a friend of ours.  And as we came in and greeted each other, {we were friends for quite a while}, and I was reaching for my yellow paper that I had written on the day before.  And he said, “Loren, I want to show you what God has shown me!” And it was virtually the same list that God had given me the day before.  Three weeks later, my wife Darlene had seen Dr. Francis Shaffer on TV and he had the same list!  And so I realized that this was for the body of Christ.

So, according to Loren’s account, the three of them received a message and concluded it was from God. Even after finding the scripture referred to as 2 Corinthians 10 I don’t see a connection to what Paul was speaking of in the scripture beginning in verse 13. See here –

13 We, however, will not boast beyond measure, but within the limits of the sphere which God appointed us—a sphere which especially includes you. 14 For we are not overextending ourselves (as though our authority did not extend to you), for it was to you that we came with the gospel of Christ; 15 not boasting of things beyond measure, that is, in other men’s labors, but having hope, that as your faith is increased, we shall be greatly enlarged by you in our sphere, 16 to preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man’s sphere of accomplishment.

Spheres, not mountains and a sphere which is round could never become a mountain which is not. So – word games? bad geometry? But in the context – the meeeeeannnninnnng – which to the best of my understanding as used here is region or area of influence where the gospel was, is and will be preached in making reference to his apostolic authority where the Lord has led him to preach it.  (There’s more going on in this chapter, but I don’t see the need to address it now. Feel free to hash it later on.)

To continue the transcript (emphasis mine):

I gave it for the first time in Hamburg, Germany at the big cathedral there to a group of hundreds of young people that had gathered at that time. And I said, “These are the areas that you can go into as missionaries.  Here they are: First, it’s the institution set up by God first, the family.  After the family was church, or the people of God.  The third was the area of school, or education. The fourth was media, public communication, in all forms, printed and electronic.  The fifth was what I call “celebration”, the arts, entertainment, and sports, where you celebrate within a culture.  The sixth would be the whole area of the economy, which starts with innovations in science and technology, productivity, sales, and service.  The whole area we often call it business but we leave out sometimes the scientific part, which actually raises the wealth of the world.  Anything new, like making sand into chips for a microchip, that increases wealth in the world.  And then of course prediction sales and service helps to spread the wealth.  And so the last was the area of government.  Now government, the Bible shows in Isaiah 33 verse 22 that there are three branches of government, so it’s all of the three branches:  judicial, legislative, and executive.  And then there are subgroups under all of those seven groups.  And there are literally thousands upon thousands of sub-groups.  But those seven can be considered like Caleb:  “Give me this mountain,” and they can be a “mountain” to achieve for God.

Notice, Loren began this segment of the story stating “I said” not “God said”.  And to young people – YOUNG PEOPLE! Again, referring to the scripture in 2 Corinthians 10 Paul mentions nothing of the seven mountains which are: Family, Religion, Government, Arts/Entertainment (not to forget someone recently added sports to that mountain), Media, Education and Economy/Business. So, how is it these men can conclude this is a message from God to be preached, taught and utilized by all believers?

And just as a side note and because I cannot let this go, Loren claimed the government as shown in Isaiah 33 v 22. My NKJV reads- (For the Lord is our Lawgiver, The Lord is our King; He will save us)  Nothing said, or inferred, as far as I can see about government! Maybe it’s a typo on their end, but where’s the credibility here???

Here is a short video supporting the Seven Mountains Mandate by Os Hillman

Notice the emphasis placed on the mountain that will bring in the cash needed to carry out this mandate which is also necessary for the success of the other mountains. To them, nothing can be accomplished without that money. They saved this particular mountain until toward the end of the video because it is the most important and they want that remembered just as in Loren’s story. Was this the message of Christ?

Mark 6:7-9 –7 And He called the twelve to Himself, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits. 8 He commanded them to take nothing for the journey except a staff—no bag, no bread, no copper in their money belts9 but to wear sandals, and not to put on two tunics.

Mark 10:23  Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!”

Jesus never emphasised the need for money in preaching the gospel, in sending His own out or even in their day to day affairs. Its like He knew whatever the need it would be provided. Hmmm..

Matthew 6:31-33 31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

If you follow this Seven Mountain mandate you will be taken on a quest to become educated and work to achieve a place of promised authority and power in your “mountain”. Instead you will find yourself in a place in which you become subject to the leadership and rule of a false apostle and prophet. We are supposed to be light to the lost but in proper context.  Why would God instruct anyone to take over these spheres or mountains and build a kingdom here on earth when Jesus stated His kingdom was not of this world? Why would He give messages to build and  take over society that He intends on destroying at the end of time? Why would He direct people to devise ways to gain cash when He showed such little interest in it among His own? He would not. It is that simple.

From where you are at, preach the gospel to those around you, praying for their salvation, and yes, go out as a missionary if you are called to it! Until Christ returns His kingdom is a spiritual one here on earth. We are joined by our faith and are like-minded through the clear and simple teachings of the word of God, for this is our unity. And we are led by the Spirit of God in all things.

Blessed be His name.

  1. So am I to assume from reading the transcript that when I was in Campus Crusade for Christ in college, I was involved in something “unsavory”…because it was founded by Bill Bright? Not sure I understand.

    • I’m only giving the information that I found related to the Seven Mountains Mandate. I don’t know much about Bill Bright. He is mentioned here by Cunningham as having received a similar message and that is the only mention of him in my article. If you were taught dominion theology while you were involved with CCFC, then, yes you were taught bad theology. Other than that you are more able to answer that question than I am having been exposed to it.

  2. Gotcha, thanks. No, no Kingdom Now stuff that I remember…just a college Christian organization whose goal it was to lead others to Christ.

  3. This sure brought back memories. I remember when this broke out with these guys, especially with Schaeffer in the early 70’s. Schaeffer would be on the 700 club (seems like he was on every other day!), talking about the ills of society and how Christians needed to rise up and use ‘the system’ to bring about the “kingdom of God”.(and lest we forget Pat Robertson’s, Secret of the Kingdom book! Oh my!) He, Schaeffer, teamed up with the conservative politicians, then boom!, came out with, ‘How Should We Then Live, then The Christian Manifesto (rewriting history to support his views…and he wasn’t well received back in the day- no matter how much people say that he was ‘the great intellectual guru’, in todays world). Also, at that time, we had people like Derek Prince teaching to bind specific demons over specific spheres, and then for Christians to swoop in and clean up the mess! Just reminiscing about how this has all played/playing out in the last 40 years or so.
Once again, a great post on dominionism – showing that there is one Kingdom and then the counterfeit, anti christ system running counter to the True. Good job…and the applaude you for hammering the message out because here we have a new generation having being raised totally under this, thinking it’s ‘normal’God’s Kingdom business, but as you point out, FAR FROM IT.

  4. I ‘got saved’ through a lady at CCFC over 20 years ago. I spent about a year under their discipleship. They were, at that time, cessationist. Many years later I heard they were “full gospel.” I don’t know the specifics, but it can probably be researched-may have had something to do with the son of.

M’Kayla I didn’t know you were looking for this info on the 7 mountains. I saw Lance W. on TBN around 2000? tell a similar version of this story, but it sure didn’t seem like he was talking about something that happened in the 70’s. I might actually have an old tape of that show. I will see if I still have it. I threw most of my dominionist stuff out about three years ago.

  5. Don’t know what happened in my above post… meant to say that the change from a cessationist viewpoint of CCFC may have had something to do with Bill Bright’s son taking over the organization. I don’t know that for sure, just seem to remember hearing something along those lines.

  6. Good article Mkayla.
This whole Seven Mountains thing is ironic , and in many ways displays the ignorance of those who promote it.For me its hard to get this verse out of mind, from Rev 17:9

The seven heads are seven mountains , on which the woman sits.

The symbolism deployed in this passage as such pits the ” harlot” as the apostate church. She is the one who has prostituted herself with the world and the result is that she now covers the whole world, a far cry from the position of the ” bride” , who are the faithful church , the church that keeps herself chaste by being in the world ,but not of the world.
If these people want to claim their seven mountains mandate, let them have it, because by it , scripture shows them for who they are.

  7. “When we lose our influence, we lose our culture…” Our “influence” is nothing without the truth. It is more fitting to say, when we do not proclaim the truth, THEN the people walk in darkness. some chose to do so, anyway, whether they hear the truth or not. Our”influence” has nothing to do with how smart we are, how powerful we are, how rich we are –all by the world’s standards — it is all about the truth. Rather today we have the church embedding the world into it and the church is conforming to the world instead of the world coming to the Cross and being renewed.

Woe to those who are looking into conquering any seven mountain bull malarky. Jesus said, “come, follow Me.” NOT go conquer Hollywood, media, etc. These things are of the world and it is ONLY when Jesus returns that things will be set in complete perfection. HE has the government on His shoulders. He has NOT set it upon us!

    • “When we lose our influence, we lose our culture…”
This statement reminds me of the teaching that come from Don Richardson, also of YWAM who claims God created each culture and left a piece of himself in it.

Babel, the tower of Babel was rebellion to the Lord. He did not create “cultures” but gave them different languages -as judgment- and the people scattered. Seems like there’s a little bit of similarity there.

  8. I want to comment on this question from the interviewer to Cunningham:

Loren, you know in Deuteronomy 28 it talks about us being the “head”, not the “tail”, and then in Matthew when Jesus prayed to bring “heaven on earth”; what has prevented us from moving over society at that level in these seven spheres and do you think that the focus of the evangelical church of the gospel of salvation vs. the gospel of the kingdom has hindered that at all?

The true Gospel, the Gospel of salvation, has been perverted to the “gospel of the kingdom.” People are won to Christ one at a time through repentence and acceptance of Christ’s atoning work on the Cross not by “Christianizing” sections of society. Bill Johnson uses this same terminology.

  9. This dominionism seems to be intertwined with belief in a great end time revival. Although I’m sure not all who believe there will be an end time revival are dominionists, the reverse is true – I think.

I’ve recently been asking those who believe in a great end time revival what their scriptural basis is for believing this.

The ones I always heard were the Acts 2/Joel 2 argument. But that seems a lot to hang on two scriptures especially when the interpretation of the Joel 2 passage is weak in support of the revival theory.

Today I saw a new one, well new to me. The use of Heb 10:12- 15. In this interpretation of Heb 10, God is waiting for the enemies of Christ to be made into His footstool, and it is the church who will do that. The person teaching this believes it to mean the glorious church resulting from the end time revival will finally be able to make the Lord’s enemies His footstool.

My question to the commenters and M’Kayla: What scriptures support the end time revival belief other than the ones mentioned? I’m not (necessarily)asking for input if you believe this, but what scriptures have you heard used to support this?

Sorry if you’ve covered this somewhere else, but it seemed related, and I thought the readership here might help me out.

    • I haven’t heard the scripture in Hebrews used to support this idea. I have heard the others you mentioned, in Acts and in Joel, but now that I think about it I really cannot say what other scriptures have been used. I’ve always thought it was on overall misconception rather than anything based in scripture. And to that we may as well add that the emphasis would not be on the Holy Spirit bringing about a revival, but on the “anointing” of the “church” moving in great signs and wonders and great power. Bah!

      It’s a great question Ruth!

My question to the commenters and M’Kayla: What scriptures support the end time revival belief other than the ones mentioned? I’m not (necessarily)asking for input if you believe this, but what scriptures have you heard used to support this?
    ……………..
Anyone that is looking for scriptural validation for an end times revival has to be totally ignoring passages that clearly negate this fanciful notion, but then again this is the MO of false teachers/ prophets, twist and distort less understood scripture and ignore the clear and unambiguos ones.

    Like

    • Good thinking Ray! Their belief is twisted and puffed up thinking. Now someone did say recently if all these people involved in charismania would come to their senses and repent, THAT would indeed be a “revival”. Wouldn’t that be something?

      Like

  11. Yes, it was on some aspect of 7 mountain dominionism stuff. Like you I had only heard the Acts/Joel verses to back up the end time revival belief. I got to wondering if that was ALL the scriptures used for the belief.

If so, that is one seriously weak argument.

  12. Thanks for the post.

What Scriptures do they turn to find support for an end times revival???

They usually go to the Old Testament. Isaiah 2, Psalm 2, and Psalm 72 are some of their favourites.

They have an inverted hermeneutic. They start with a passage like Isaiah 2 and read the New Testament in light of it.

I (and I’m not alone) would say you start with the NT, look at how the Apostles dealt with and interpreted the OT and then apply the principle to how you read the OT. Primarily the hermeneutic needs to be Christocentric…all the OT promises were fulfilled, affirmed and confirmed in Christ (2Cor 1.20)

If you’re looking for any kind of fulfillment outside of Christ…you’re disagreeing with Paul.

Hope that helps. If not, I’m happy to keep going…..

So glad to see others rejecting this. When I first encountered Theonomy, Dominionism, F. Schaeffer etc…. I didn’t know how to answer it, but I was immersed in my Bible and I knew it was wrong. I kept studying and eventually found the tools to refute their errors.

    God bless.

  13. A persistent theme of the bible is that of a remnant. The entire notion of a “remnant” is that of a small piece left over.

What I see born out before me is in direct contradiction to what these latter day prophets proclaim.

It also seems that one’s view of the end times is also important here: whether there will be a great apostasy before our Lord appears and whether the times when all will turn to Him are times of the millenial kingdom.

    Like

  14. Thanks John. That helps. How we look at the OT seems to be key in so much of the stuff I am sorting through.

    Like

  15. Jim,

Exactly. Though few will say so, the Remnant is a major concept that is often missed.

Only Amillennialism and historic Pre-millennialism allow for an apostasy before the 2nd Coming. And those are the only two eschatological schemes which also allow imminency, that Christ could come any moment.

Dispensationalism splits the 2nd coming into two, with a Rapture having to happen first. I believe in 1 Thes 4 of course, but that’s the 2nd coming.

Postmillennialism places the apostasy in the past. Christ can’t come until the world is Christianized.

The fundamental questions are…what is the Kingdom? What is its nature and how is it built? and, how do the OT and NT relate to one another. Discontinuity, continuity, or both?

    Like

    • And we are seeing an apostacy, a time when many are turning from the truth to follow after other gods yet in the minds of these people they think and claim they follow Christ. There is a mix of Christianity with the occult, new age and eastern religious practices that is growing in numbers. This, combined with the prophetic/presence movement claiming the presence of God when in reality it is the presence of a demon. We are now coming into teachings that salvation is not necessary – the impartation or filling of the Holy Spirit is. But, again, this spirit they pass along like a football is not the Holy Spirit. “Christ can’t come until the world is Christianized” is dominionism. The false teachers and prophets who teach this and their followers who mimic it have become so blinded that they cannot see the opposite is true. The world is not getting better, but is worsening, becoming more sinful and hate filled each day. The “Kingdom” for now is a spiritual one until Christ finally comes, sets up His Kingdom and rules as the King.

    • I found a source where the belief in a great end-time out pouring of the Holy Spirit is covered in depth. I don’t like to look for someone’s teaching over the scripture, but I can’t exactly use my concordance and look up ‘end time revival.’ I was looking for a start so I could look up the scriptures used to back this up.

I haven’t read through them all yet, but these are the ones I know about. Is 35, 60 and 63, Joel 2, Zech 12 and 13, Hosea 6, Micah 2:12,13.

At first glance it seems clear these references don’t look much like the NAR/dominionist version of some kind of Christian utopian world pre- the 2nd coming of Christ. I agree the true believers will be a remnant compared to the world’s population. Narrow is the road and few will find it.

@Jim I think I now understand what you meant by whether or not this is a description of the millenial reign.

I’m no end times scholar, but I want to study this out. Thanks for the input.

Was just thinking about this and your search for roots…am doing a series by Proto Protestantism,(blog) by John A. on Advancing the Kingdom, and he has info in this series, going waaaay back on this issue of Dominionism. In each part (4, so far) there are goodies that we can see how this movement has made it into mainstream thought. Sure not promoting ‘me’…just wanted to get this info out. Lots to read, much language that John uses to get used to!, such as Transformationalism (Dominionism), Sacralism, etc. but well worth it. Ruffles many feathers, so hey-you know it’s good, Ha!

(Mkayla, edit comment, trash it or whatever, just wanted to let you, personally, know about the info. Just don’t want to come across as promoting…more interested in actual information.)

    • HI! I think I read one of those and will go back and possibly link up. Don’t worry about self promo – I also believe in sharing info. Freely we have received, freely give.

There are many who are revealing the false teaching behind WOF, new age, dominion, etc. and how they link together in teaching, thought, people, etc. It is exciting to see so much of these lies revealed and I love how each has their own voice and own way of hammering out the truth. Praise God.

Thanks for letting me know and feel free to anytime! 🙂

I have always known something about human beings. We always criticise what we don’t understand. The whole subject of 7 mountains is critical to the relevance of God’s children.I can’t but wonder why God’s children are always so complacent with the statue quo.The bible says we are the light of the world not the church so tell me how do we influence the world without influence.I have discover that the criticism of the 7 mountain is only an excuse by the church to maintain their unproductive approach to the demand of God’s kingdom at this time.sincerely i never met or hear anything about bright, lorem and lance but i have always known that the way we are going as God’s children will be a disappointment to God’s expectation of his church.Religion is crippling the church from taking her rightful place as God’s ambassador on the earth.

    • Israel, did you read the article because it pointed out that there is NO biblical support for the seven mountains mandate. NONE. So you cannot write this off as criticsm. It is simply not biblical which means it is not of God and we are to have nothing to do with movements, mandates that are not of Him. That is not religion, but simple truth. The gospel must be preached to all nations and then the end will come. But it will not be preached through the seven mountains. These teachers are not about the business of our God, but about the business of men. Kinda reminds me of the tower of babel. Please do some research on your own to learn the truth. The gospel has become an offense to many and they have departed from the truth! You don’t want to follow after them or defend them.

In addition, Colson has his Christian Worldview broken down into eight (not seven) spheres of influence. It is the same garbage as the 7 mountains, he simply added one to appear different. It isn’t different! http://www.colsoncenter.org/search-library/worldview-spheres

Colson is also one of the founders of the Manhattan Declaration which joins evangelicals with Catholics. He was also one of the supporters or designers of Pray and Act – another prayer push for the political agenda. Both written about here on the blog.

    • First of all, I am not criticizing brothers and sister in Christ. I am bringing to light some very serious false teaching brought about my many who come in the name of Christ, yet have nothing in Him.And second, yes we are called to judge and there is more to our salvation than the hearts intent. I suggest you do a little more study in the word. Jesus called us His disciples because we do as He has commanded. If you believe in the seven mountains/dominion theology then you have forgotten that Christ said His kingdom is NOT of this world. Quite different.

  22. M’Kayla, if you love the Lord, please litsen to the 7mountains teaching clearly and ask your self “does this help Jesus gather or scatter” That is how Jesus said we shall know those who are on his team.

    Like

    • Ruth, I think your question “does this help Jesus gather or scatter” is skewed. The 7 mountains is a process of taking the world for Christ so that He CAN return. But this is not the teaching of the bible at all. Dominion/Kingdom Now theology is clearly not biblical AND as we can see by the increase of sin in the world it is not happening. More and more I do believe it is the plan of the antichrist to fulfill his purpose here on earth. So many people are following the teaching, doctrine and prophecy of false teachers and prophets. Instead of standing for the truth found in the word of God people are being swayed, turning soft, accepting people as Christians simply because they use the name of the Lord. Life is going to get quite ugly very soon and I hope you are prepared for that. I hope that you are not one that is led astray by these teachers.

What do you do with John 18:36 – Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.”

  23. by whoose authority is this great end time strategy declared, is it G12 or 7mountains or wide angle??? the point being…. these things are of man… the command we have in scripture is to go & make disciples of all men – not disciples of ourselves or to ideology but disciples – followers of Jesus… if there were such a specific end time strategy dont you think it would be a little more specifically defined in the scriptures so as to be highly effective & to avoid controversy, confusion & doubt.

remember when paul addressed this very issue.. about what was coming from various leaders: when the early church were being divisive; some were saying, well Im with Appollos, & others Im with paul & still others undoubtedly were saying Im with this person & im with that one… & all because they were probably saying enthusiastic things that were gearing up people for action & creating a “followership”

see what Paul says 1 corinthians 3 – he settles the matter!

for you are still fleshly. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking like mere men? 4 For when one says, “I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not mere men?

5 What then is Apollos? And what is Paul Servants through whom you believed, even as the Lord gave opportunity to each one. 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. 7 So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth. 8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. 9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.

10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it. 11 For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

& heres the thing it is not about & never has been about “effective strategizing” & setting up systems to bring about Gods kingdom … Paul says it quite clearly here it is about building wisely on a solid foundation which ultimately is Christ.. with the building process handed from one to another – generation to generation. One thing is for sure,, solidity can never ever be achieved by anything that is not sitting properly on the word of God… … if it were possible outside of a biblical parameter to dream dreams & have creatively inspired visions – that just because of a persons connection & networking are given a voice & a weird momentum. — why have the Bible at all? kick something around in the long grass long enough with enough noisy people & it becomes accepted…..

who says its this or that or the other thing;? the only one we can be sure to trust is Jesus… the only mandate we can totally rely on as the final authority on these things – on all things is the scriptures- which incidentally dont even talk of a great end time revival, or a perfectly Godly kingdomed ordered world for Jesus – before he comes…

Biblical truth or some revelation knowledge thats been swimming around & mutated since 1975???

    • There is no glory for the Lord in a teaching that has nothing to do with Him! The teaching of the 7 mountains is all about the glory of man, not the glory or even the will of the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray you see the difference and depart from these wolves!

  25. I believe this teaching is not conform the bible. If the body of christ has dominion over this earth means that Christ can be disturbed from his second coming. That is if he comes back because the bible presents his second coming during Christ age and not 2000 years afther. For He to come back the world would need to be in a bad condition. So if the Church domains everything would not be that bad so then Christ would not come back. This dominion message is too fare away from the message of the cross. I attend a church that has become part of the NAR and the seven mountains teachings. I am a worshipper at church and decided to take a distance from the worship service and church. It looks like men does not believe anymore that the message of the gospel is the power unto salvation. Because men is always busy in trying to come with a new formula opr trick to get people to come to God or the church. There is alway a new wind of false doctrine. Thats why I believe and trust in the Almighty God and men made messages.

  26. I have only heard one man teach and/or speak of the Seven Mountain Mandate, and that’s Lance Wallnau. He spoke nothing of the need for spheres of influence to becomes sources of revenue for the Kingdom of God. He spoke about God receiving Glory through the people He placed in places of influence within the secular world. Wallnau teaches (and I believe this to be a much-needed message to the church) that we as believers should be people of relevance within our community and to the world. Our contribution to our community (our relevance) will be a platform for God to receive glory and for the Kingdom of God (the gospel) to be preached. We see many examples in the OT of this: Esther, Daniel, Moses (in his training and upbringing in the palace), David, Ezra (or was it Nehemiah?), men and women placed strategically for the glory of God. I believe that this teaching is valid. I don’t believe that everyone can receive it, but some who in humility seek to be used as vessels of honor and who understand that everything that is accomplished in life is for the glory of God may find that the 7M teaching may bear some fruit in their lives. In all things, may God be glorified.

    • Mark, where exactly in the bible are you getting this teaching from, because I simply do not see it in there. The reasons have already been laid out, so I would like to know where you get the idea that God needs revenue for His Kingdom or even that we are to build His Kingdom since Jesus said His Kingdom was not of this world.

  27. Just as info. In 2011/2012 the church I attend has been visited by Lance Wallnau, Johny Enlow and many others who preached the seven mountains doctrine. Even you can atend the Kingdom leadership institute. The message is always trying to make you believe that you must repossess what the enemy ( satan ) has stolen from us. If you read the bible men (adam ) DID NOT lose dominion over the government, arts, entertainmant, ext. If you read and understand what is written in the bible … ( that Jesus in a future event will put satan in chains/prison for a 1000 years ) That means that satan still has his power the manipulate. Now satan is still out there. So that we will influence and domain these mountains is impossible. There were many promotions in church like these teaching promoted certain brothers in different spheres. But till today no change in these areas. Even afther promotions a church member was fired of her job. Jesus said that He came to give life. The other thing is that it focused to much on prosperity. Some preachers even said that if you attend a church that is not luxery build that means God is not there. ( not my Jesus teaching because he became poor )Other preachers even spreaded money on the floor ( change ) for the believers to dance on the money for a financial change. ( not in the bible ) A lady named Linda Rios has a book of angel teaching. When satan tempted jesus by offering Him the Kingdoms of the world, Jesus did not go into his trick. Jesus replied with Gods world. Now in these day seven mandate wants power and that is a big lie. What each christian must have in mind that where ever he is HE MUST BE A LIGHT FOR THE WORLD. Not in the seven mountains. These teachers always talk about e certain kind of god ( false god ) who govern in certains area/mountain. Sorry to say but that is very stupid. I you are a believer that means that there is only one and thrue living God. It is impossible to have false gods. They simply don’t exist. When you speak of false gods it’s a waste of time beacuse you are speaking of something that does not exist. Check the story of the god baal in the o.t. You will even bal does not exist. So they teach you to go in war against something that not exist. satan and demons exist but none of those are gods. If you resist evel will flee from you. We all have the abilty to choose what is good and what not. It is a free will. It is true that there is always bad things happening out there every day. Not even Jesus stopped evil from taking place. So we will not have dominion. Our task is to believe that we are saved by grace. We should preached the good news to world. Its hard task. But the 7 mountains is not a teaching from Jesus.

    • One would think that after decades of declaring, decreeing, prophesying, demanding God do this and Satan do that, these self proclaimed prophets would recognize their words simply do not work. They are indeed false prophets! As you pointed out, the story of altar built to Baal is a good example for them to realize the god they cry out to is the same as Baal, the same response – silence, no show. However, I do believe Baal exists as a demonic entity. Either way, the seven mountains prophecy is a sham as much as is all the false prophetic words flying about.

Jesus Christ is the spirit of prophecy. It is finished.

  29. This is all I know. When I read about Daniel and David, Abraham and Jesus I read about people with influence. People who made a difference. I dont understand why Christians have to be in hiding. While people who do not know nor respect God are at the forefront. I think Christians are not where we are supposed to be as a majority. A lot of things that have been said from the pulpit has materialized, some has not. I dont know who is wrong and who is right but I do know most of the people I listen to and have met are caring people. Its easy to call someone false this and that when you arent the one putting yourself out there to be judge. And when you have never seen the behind the scenes of various ministries. Not a big fan of reading any of their books, but you cant get me to read “self help” books either. Really isn’t necessary in my opinion. I study the bible for myself, using various resources at my disposable. I believe we live in a society that is waiting for all hell to break loose, saved and unsaved. Its like we feed on it. So when someone comes with a plan or suggests a way to help. They get criticized. I dont know if God said do this or that to these people. I dont think its such a bad idea. I do know he said be productive and bear fruit. Anyone that looks at the church and says we are doing that as majority, is seriously delusional. Anyway to each his own.

    • ashabrandi, if you are reading and studying the bible for yourself why aren’t you seeing the lies behind the seven mountains and charismania? Why aren’t you seeing the connection going on in the world and the church as the one world religion?

When you say it’s easy to criticize are you speaking to me? I have been out there. I have been involved in these things, many things using the name of God, yet taking their ideas, their very prophecies, their dreams and visions to steer their organizations and churches the wrong way. I have been involved in many leadership meetings, back room meetings, intercessions, worship…

One day when I sat down with God for direction He began to speak to me through scripture. And that was the beginning of many days of research and my way out of this false religion.

The only way to “help” is thru repentance and salvation offered by Christ. But the bible tells us that society will not get better, it will get worse. This is what we are seeing going on now.

  30. Because from what I have witnessed, I do not see most merging a one world religion. I do however see people wanting the church to operate on higher level of anointing. We have not even touch the anointing of the Old Testament. Jesus made himself very clear. He told us what was to come and then sent Paul to preach to us about how to live outside of the societies issues. He said the things he did we will do also and “greater”. I am saying I do not see majority of the Church operating in the greater. The “world” will get worse because those that do not trust God operate on a fear based system. The entire Old Testament is showing us how to live successfully in the midst of famine and horror. Along with other challenges we will see in the Earth. My comment was focusing Christians acting like the world and living in fear and mediocrity. Yes I know, Jesus said these things will happen, but we are to be of good cheer, because he overcame the “world”. By world he is not speaking of the Earth he is talking about a babylonian system. But for those that trust and have faith in God says great things about those people. “no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him”. After a we get saved it doesnt stop there. We are to renew our minds. Why renew our minds if God isnt trying to show us a better way of operating. I didnt say the 7 mountain mandate was Gods assignment to us all. I said it doesnt sound like a bad idea. Christians are in every arena of life. There are 2+ billion Christians on Earth. All Christians are not going to have a pulpit. And Jesus himself never came to preach salvation only: “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” We have different functions, different gifts, and talents. I am saying I do not see anything wrong with this. Some are lawyers, some are activists, some are politicians, some are mechanics, some are educators, some are engineers, some are musicians, some are painters. This already exists. However there are Christians out there that think its wrong to be in certain professions (a poll was done at my church concerning this). As a result alot of the church isnt trying to do better because the godly passions inside of them are being suppressed by condemnation . Thats where I believe this teaching come from. Out of passion to show people you dont have have a church or pulpit to serve God. But no matter our functions or location we are still ministers of the word. God’s salvation and grace is to free us. Not back us into a corner in hiding. Salvation is great. But salvation alone does not change nor transform man. If salvation was the end to all of our issues then once we received Jesus into our lives, all the issues would disappear. Renewing our minds to how God’ operates is what is needed for a victorious life. But we can disagree God Bless 🙂

We are changed on a spiritual level which should affect and change every aspect of our lives. But we are not building a kingdom here. That is for Christ to do when He returns.

  31. Ashbrandi,

I hope you understand what is really going on here – all across the WOF – River movements the 7MM is a definite endtime strategy to – as they would put it “Bring Heaven to Earth…” the latter rain doctrine which underpins this mandate supports this view in 9 out of 22 points of its statement of belief…

her are 3 statements that indicate that the 7MM isnt really biblical:-

    1) Romans 14 v 17 says : For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

this indicates not a Physical kingdom, but a spiritual one

    2) I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.
    1 corinthians 15v 15

    3) Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God will come, He answered them, “The kingdom of God is not coming with something observable;
    Luke 17:19-21

now I know- you will want to use the scripture as your ultimate point of reference & final authority.. which is why I would loving ask you why it is that not even a hint of such a mass strategy or even revival is mentioned in the scriptures? & 2nd, why it took then the whole history of the church 1975 years to finally hear the plan to win the world for God..

any kingdom, system, plan whatever you wish to call it that is man made that we wish to overcome the world with – is always going to be imperfect & subject to the same corruptions we already see… how then can this be of God?

Didn’t Heaven already come to Earth? – Jesus the author & perfecter of our faith…

Its a noble thought… the 7MM but also a huge red herring… please please do your own research… pray & ask God, search the scriptures… find out for sure for yourself… if its that important take the time to be dilligent – yeah!?! dont just accept what you have been told from highly regarded teachers…

  32. There are a lot of good comments here, and I appreciate your stance against the 7 mountain strategy, which clearly is not taught in the Bible. However, I don’t understand why some are throwing out, ignoring or misinterpreting scripture regarding the end-time revival.
“This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:14.
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams.” Acts 2:17
“After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands.” Revelation 7:9
These are just a few that indicate a very significant end time revival. And why can we not use Old Testament scriptures to support doctrine? The New Testament uses the Old Testament to support doctrine, so throwing away Old Testament scriptures clearly that are speaking about the end-time revival doesn’t make much sense. Call it something else if you want, but clearly God will be doing great things in the “last days” in the midst of persecution and judgments. Society will not be transformed. “You will be hated by all men for my names’ sake.” Yet the gospel will be preached in power as it was through the apostles.

    • Hi Mark. This is a good point you are making. But, the scripture regarding the multitude does not indicate “end time”. I would think these are the saved throughout all time, which would number to quite an amount. We have to consider 2 Thessalonians which speaks of the falling away/apostasy which seems to be in full swing now. Many are departing the true faith, unknowingly because they have not studied, they are following false doctrines and practicing the worship of other gods/other religions branded as “Christianity”. Surely you have seen this taking place…??? So, none of these scriptures that you quoted have anything to do with end time revival. I think you are reading something in that is not there.

As to your comments about throwing out OT scripts. Where did you get that idea from here? Was something said that I missed, did I misspeak?

      Thanks for your time.

I’m sorry for not being more clear in my intention. My short comment was meant to be thought provoking to ashabrandi in response to her comment:

…He said the things he did we will do also and “greater”. I am saying I do not see majority of the Church operating in the greater….

If she thinks that, as Christians, we can do ‘greater’ than raising someone from physical death (Lazarus) or calming a storm [Mark 4:35-41], I’d like to know just what that would be, as that is apparently her understanding of Jesus’ words in John 14:12. Just using my own imagination, I suppose creating a whole new cosmos could be greater [see John 1:1-4, Col 1:16-20, Heb 1:3, etc]; but, I’m curious of what her view would be.

The words in the link provided are not my own and cannot be boiled down easily, as they are taken from a number of theologians far more learned than me. Before researching for the article I did not have an adequate answer to the question.

    • True, true Craig. But they all think they CAN and SHOULD do greater things than Jesus. At least that was the thinking in the groups I ran around with, fed by…well, you know who. LOL So, they take this one scripture and build on it, one day illness will end, hospitals, hospices, psych wards will all empty. Major supernatural events will take place, dreams and visions and seeing into the supernatural will be common place. Bob Jones even chimed in that some parents will have children who will overcome death. These are serious fallacies that I see leading into the workings of the anti-christ. They are all waiting for the power to actually come into play. And when “god” sends it out, life on earth will change. But not so. I know you know this, we’ve discussed it. I’m just putting it out there for others because this is what we are looking at. They believe the power will come from God because they are followers of Christ. But, the power will be that of the antichrist and anyone who truly does not know Christ will be caught up in the wild deception.

I also want to add that as of this point I believe Jesus performed the miracles that He did because of who He is. Jews knew only God could heal, they knew only God had the power over life and death and they knew the Messiah of God was to come. I know Jesus told His disciples to do the same, but I don’t see this happening now. I am not sure why that is. I don’t understand why the original 12 could heal and raise the dead, but we can’t. That is something I still need to chew on a bit, I suppose. The deluded believe they have the same power as Christ. No one does as far as I can see.

Yes that is exactly the point THE GOSPEL will be preached… the latter rain doctrine & the vehicle of the 7MM doesnt support the Gospel as we would biblically understand it – it supports the perfected body of Christ, some Superchurch (false) bride of christ & the ruling & reigning of men who feel they are Gods elect. when you look at it it is two very different things.. But the deception abounds to make people “think” that what is being promoted is ay OK…

  36. I’m really baffled by many of the comments posted here. Especially since ALL that Jesus Christ ever preached or taught about was the return of Kingdom of God to earth through HIM. The word KINGDOM or DOMINION are one in the same and come from the Greek word “basileia”. Gensis 1:26 clearly states that GOD gave Adam (mankind species) DOMINION/KINGDOM which he lost through disobedience to GOD. Whatever Adam lost is what Jesus came to bring back: “Repent (change the way you think ) for the Kingdom of God/Heaven is at hand OR has returned to the earth” [Matt. 3:2]. You can’t appropriate what you put off for a later date. People that walk in DOMINION have INFLUENCE and can effectively
Revelation 11:15 ” The world has now become the KINGDOM of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign forever and ever”.

Yes the Kingdom of God is here in the earth right now within the heart of true believers and there are manifestations that give evidence to its prescence. I believe that The Kingdom of God is clashing against the Religious people who claim to be Kingdom Citizens as such are the majority of the comments posted above!

As an educator I know that my primary assignment in the earth is in the area/sphere/realm/mountain of Education and I will take the Kingdom of God and its principles to help transform this area of culture and guess what it will take FINANCES to do it!

    • Sonya, Adam and Christ are NOT the same. Adam fell in sin; Christ came as sacrifice for all sinners. The kingdom of God will be set up when Christ returns to do so. There is nothing we can do here on earth to effect that. Christ said His kingdom was NOT of this world. Yes, there is a piece of it here in believers as we live according to His will, but it is only in part.

If we had the power to change the world, we would not be seeing the great falling away that we are, we would not be seeing so much sin – what is wrong called right. We are called to preach the gospel to the lost, to encourage and teach believers until Christ returns.

This is the problem and the trap of false teachers. They take a little bit of the truth and mingle it with lies and many are led astray.

You are terribly misinformed. The word for dominion in the Septuagint (the Greek version of Hebrew OT) is άρχέτωσάν [archetosan], which means “rule over”, which could be translated as ‘kingship’, I suppose. However, what was man “ruler over”? – the “fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the air, and over the cattle and all the (physical) earth, and over the reptiles that creep on the earth”. How exactly does that translate into taking rulership over individual spheres of influence of men, when it’s clear that mankind was to only rule over animals, plants, and the physical earth?

But, who really owns the earth? Psalm 24:1 states, “The earth is the LORD’s and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it” [NIV]. In the book of Job, Satan himself must receive God’s permission to test Job (Job 1:6-12 and 2:1-6). And, in Job 38:33 God states the following as a rhetorical question: Do you know the laws of the heavens? Can you set up God’s dominion over the earth? [NIV]

You’re mixing two separate concepts. Adam lost his ‘rule’ – his stewardship, not ownership – over the fish, birds, animals, plants, reptile and soil of the earth when he sinned in the Garden; but, much more importantly, Adam lost his direct relationship with God. Jesus brought with Him the Kingdom of God, that is, He restored the direct relationship to God that was lost by Adam in the Garden by His sacrificial death on the Cross – available to all who accept Him as their Lord and Savior.

However, the sinful condition of the world clearly remains. There is still pain in childbirth, the ground remains difficult to raise crops as it produces thorns and thistles, and there is physical death (Genesis 3:14-19). These things will NOT be returned to their pre-Fall state until Jesus Christ returns at the eschaton, the end of all things. Jesus Christ Himself will “put everything under HIS feet” which is when “death is destroyed”[1 Cor 15:26-28]. How absolutely arrogant to think that we – lowly, sinful mankind – will put everything under OUR feet!

  38. While doing some research on the source of 7 Mountains and Kingdom Theology, I came across this Blog.
I have read most (about 90%) of this thread and I find, for the most part, that the contributions here are grounded in academia, which I find to be a “mountain/sphere” of it’s own which may have been spawned from higher education, which makes us feel that we need to show that we have one. An education, that is. My formal education was 6 years in High School and passed 4 of them, which may lead you to disqualify me. So be it. I will not be offended.

Yes, we all have our “take” on what is taught by “men” and whether it’s good or bad, but we need to get out of the cave at the top of the mountain of academia and start listening to the voice of Jesus Christ? (John 10: 1-18).

We need to get down off of that “mountain” and get back into the valley where most of us live and see that there is a river in the valley. A River of Life. That is where Jesus spent most of his time. With sinners and broken people and those who needed to see “His Kingdom” up close and personal.

    Are we listening?

I don’t think it’s about where we start reading in the Bible first; OT or NT, or what it is “saying”. What matters is, are we “hearing” with our spirit to what Jesus is saying to His churches? Don’t get me wrong here. We need to be reading the Bible – all the time. But are we listening or are we putting our own “spin” on it so it can be easier to swallow. (Gulp!)

The Bible is the inspired Word of God written by those He gave “ears to hear” and then prompted them to record it. That happened in both the OT and the NT.

    What about the Living Word?

It may do us well to remember that the Godhead, 3 Persons in One, which we routinely refer to as the Trinity, is God United; a Unity, which has been sorely distorted throughout the history of the church; the church Jesus said He would build.

When we jump into the River and eat the Bread of Life and start walking in obedience, and ministering to the poor, the widows, the broken hearted, the captives and the lost, who, by the way, may well be in or on one of those “7 Mountains”, in a cave, who need to “hear” that they are loved and are worthy of receiving the Love of God expressed by His Son on the Cross. They may be doing good or they may doing evil, but there are those who are called to go to those “mountains/spheres” and say to it, “Go, throw yourself into the sea” (Mark 11: 23) and then rescue those who are in the water and desperately wanting to be saved when they find themselves exposed to the Truth. Can we do that? Well, Jesus said we can through asking in prayer and believing that it is done (received).

Call it what we want, the “greater things” will not happen, if we stand around and wonder what they will look like. Too much time is spent trying to figure out what Jesus meant when he said….rather that doing what He told us to do.

Academia is where all the “isms” are. The world is where all the “ites” live. When are we going to “cross over” and take the land?

Satan was defeated at the Cross, but he is still “roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it.” (Job 1: 7 NIV). Satan’s permanent dwelling place is waiting for him. There is work to be done. The harvest is great but the workers are few.

Am I focusing on “the work of the Lord” instead of focusing “the Lord of the work.”?

The Kingdom of God/Heaven is here (now) by His dwelling in us by His Holy Spirit. And it is also to come (not yet) at the end of this age. We are experiencing a foretaste of His Kingdom so we will be ready when He comes again. While we are here, we might just as well do the “stuff”, as the late John Wimber said.

By the way, the OT is also a foretaste of Who is to come. The NT is about Who did come and will come again.

Jesus Heals. Jesus Frees. Jesus Saves. Jesus Loves. “Go and do likewise.” (Luke 10: 37), which Jesus said to “the expert in the law”, after he told the Parable of the Good Samaritan. We can’t do that if we stay in the cave at the top of the mountain trying to bring our own light to the scriptures. We can’t.

Do I want to bask in the “light of men” or live in darkness and “not [understand ] it”? (See John 1: 1-3).

When a baby is born, it already knows how to swim. The world has not yet told him/her that water is dangerous. I want that kind of instinctive knowledge of God that comes with childlike faith, so I will be ready to enter the Kingdom of Heaven at His Coming Again. (See Matthew 18: 3-5).
Come and join me in the River.

But everything to do with a clear understanding of some very easy to understand scriptures. The 7 Mountains or 7 spheres of influence have nothing to do with God’s plan. Not in this life or in the life to come. Many things you say are true, but I cannot ignore the fact that you dismiss the very important point of this article. None of us have to have a degree to understand God’s word. He gives wisdom and understanding freely to all who ask, who earnestly seek Him.

  39. I wish to make an appeal to logic. In John 14:12 Jesus said we will do “greater things”, yes; but, what ‘sign, wonder, or miracle’ can be greater than raising a dead man back to life after 4 days (Lazarus)? This is a serious question to ponder. What could possibly be greater than bringing a dead man back to life?

There have been some who have claimed that Jesus is referring to greater things in number rather than greater in quality; yet, the Greek word used clearly means greater quality. Yet, Jesus Himself said, “No servant is greater than his master” [John 15:20].

4given’s comments make it clear that his/her understanding of John 14:12 is greater signs/wonders, as that is exactly what Wimber meant by the “stuff”:

Call it what we want, the “greater things” will not happen, if we stand around and wonder what they will look like. Too much time is spent trying to figure out what Jesus meant when he said….rather that doing what He told us to do…While we are here, we might just as well do the “stuff”, as the late John Wimber said.

But, again I ask: What can possibly be greater than raising a dead man back to life? What sort of sign, wonder, or miracle can top that?

As always, the answer is found by looking at the context. Jesus spoke these words in the Upper Room just before He explains the coming and the work of the Holy Spirit, who will come “because I am going to the Father” [14:12]. What will the Holy Spirit do? He will bear witness to Jesus [15:26]; He will glorify Jesus [16:14] not speaking of His own authority, only what He hears [16:13]. He will judge the world and convict of sin [16:8-11]. And, we Holy Spirit-indwelt Christians are the privileged vehicle through which the Holy Spirit works. The Holy Spirit works through us as we preach the Gospel message of Christ and Him crucified. Some will accept Him and receive eternal life; others will continue in their sins and receive judgment.

This zeal of “doing the stuff”, as an end in and of itself, is chasing after the wind [Ecclesiastes]. To these ‘seekers of signs’ Jesus will say, “I never knew you” [Matthew 7:15-23]. Preach the Gospel. It’s that simple. Signs, wonders and miracles may or may not be attendant; but, the conversion of just one soul is the greatest sign, wonder, or miracle of all!

  40. Craig, thanks for your post. I admit that some of the ‘mountains’ exchange appeals to me. I also consider Romans 8:19 and the corruption of this world and its systems. How are we to respond? Yes, pray I know. But it seems many Christians are happy with going to church and disengaging themselves from the world which is of great concern to me.

  41. Rebecca,

    You’re welcome.

I can understand some of the ‘7 Mountains’ stuff being appealing to a degree. Yet, consider how the 1st century Apostles and disciples worked. They spread the Gospel message; they didn’t aspire to some lofty social or political position in the hopes that they’d be able to sway those under them. Frankly, that would be seem more like abusing one’s position of authority, the way I see it.

Instead the Apostles and disciples allowed the message of the Gospel and the Holy Spirit’s power to convict and win converts.

As regards Romans 8:19, Paul here is speaking of the corruption of the world/creation, which came about as a result of the Fall in the Garden, which will not be liberated until the eschaton, at Christ’s return. This is not in reference to mankind, but to the rest of creation.

To put 8:19 in its proper context, we see that the current anticipation of the yet future revealing of the sons of God (v 18-19), who currently have only the firstfruits (v 23), will be realized with “our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies” (v 23, NIV 1984). We receive our redeemed bodies only when Christ returns [1 Cor 15:42-53], as He puts death under His feet [1 Cor 15:25-28, 54-58]. This means that creation (personified – Paul is using figurative language here) is waiting for Christ’s return, which, to reiterate, is when “the sons of God are revealed”, our imperishable bodies being the evidence (the “hope” of our salvation – v 24), the ‘revealing’; thus, creation is either liberated from the bondage of decay simultaneous with our bodily redemption, or immediately after.

So, we can see that “creation” in this context is referring to all of creation with the exception of mankind, and this creation is anticipating its own redemption as the new heavens and new earth. While this passage may include animals, this certainly cannot include mankind, as creation itself is waiting for the redemption of man (those who’ve accepted Christ only, of course). And this cannot refer to those men and women who are not redeemed, as it seems they would hardly be waiting for Christ’s return, at which point they’ll receive judgment (depending on one’s view of eschatology, of course).

Yes, many are quite happy with doing the church thing, not being concerned about anyone or anything else. Yet, we also must remember that some of these pew warmers may not actually be saved at all, as these could well be the tares amongst the wheat (Matthew 13:24-30). As Christians, we are to obey the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). If a professing Christian has no interest in this, we may rightly wonder whether they are, indeed, in the faith. Each person should test her/himself as to whether they are really in the faith (2 Cor 13:5).

  42. Craig,

I have seen and through many pains believe Matthew 13. God chooses the elect, not church membership. What I have heard from people like Lance Wallnau is that the Great Commission goes forth in the world through many means, just as Jesus entered places not preaching or teaching but performing miracles of healing and forgiveness of sins.He addressed the context and needs of the society. These acts were for the non-believer to convince them of the Spirit and Power of God. These actions by Christ leave room for provision for others needs, like the Book of Esther, where individuals are used by God to redeem social, political and economic systems whereby His Sovereignty is made known.

Esther had to be mentored into discerning the times and once she was, she engaged with a less than desirable system for God’s purposes to set people free and reign in their hearts forever.

In listening to Mr. Wallnau and Mr. Hillman, I haven’t heard much about aspiring “to some lofty social or political position in the hopes that they’d be able to sway those under them.” I have heard more about accessing systems as “servants” for the purpose of glorifying God and making him known. But I will dig further. Thanks!

  43. the problem is that the 7 mountains is a clearly defined – organised – perpetuated endtime strategy… not that there is anything wrong with being thought through & organised there isnt, but what we have here is a creation of a man made “system” to funnel believers in Jesus into thinking that this is the means by which we win (over) world… can you see the problem … when none of this is outlined in scripture even as an overview… instead the scriptures with Jesus command to “Preach the Gospel to the nations” is being swapped with a psuedo ideology that does something else… ie seek to dominate- take the world by storm & raise up the “church” as some mighty power… the simplicity of “preach the Gospel in any format we choose is seemingly “old fashioned”..

maybe as part of your research put the phrase “seven mountains” into the search bar of http://www.biblegateway.com/ see what the scriptures say about it & start from there…

You lost me on this. I don’t see how Esther’s actions led to redeeming any particular structure. God working through her convinced the king to spare the Israelites, yes; but I don’t understand which social, political, or economic systems were “redeemed”. Structures/systems aren’t redeemed, people are. We cannot “Christianize” a particular “sphere”, although we can influence other people within our own “sphere of influence”, i.e., our example can make another open to the Gospel.

While the cosmos (earth and heavens) will be redeemed one day – by God, not Christians – the social, political and economic structures will all be obsolete.

  45. Hi. I’m Lance Wallnau. I appreciate your zeal on the subject, but really think you should hear what I teach before you take my life work and dismiss it. – I am the 7 Mountain starter kit in the body of Christ. I reached the big preachers and got them talking likewise along with a bro named Johnny Enlowe…but before me there was Lorren Cunningham, but he called them “mind molders of culture”…. Likewise, you can’t liquidate Lorrens entire career with YWAM because you disagree with his use of “I think” or ” I believe” and assume an entire idea came from his half baked soul because he didn’t say “The Word Says” or “God told me.” AS for spheres instead of mountains? God prefers to use the word “Mountain” to describe nations and institutions of influence…including HIs own (Mt Zion.)….and nobody you quoted believes in dominion as a global conquest. I have plenty of faith for the anti christ to show up! What alarms me is how people dismiss Christ’s command to make disciples of all nations. How will Jesus return and separate sheep from goat nations of no nation is discipled as he commanded? And how exactly do you propose to make disciples of any nation? And what have you done so far? Any individuals, marriages, businesses, organizations, communities or institutions changed by your approach? If so, tell me, cause I am a researcher and I don’t build my teaching off of theory without documented proof and welcome any and all insight.

Thanks for taking the time to post your comment on here. You wrote, …And how exactly do you propose to make disciples of any nation? And what have you done so far? Any individuals, marriages, businesses, organizations, communities or institutions changed by your approach?…

Can you illustrate from Scripture an approach such as yours? The Book of Acts shows the Apostles preaching the Gospel message to crowds, reaching individuals. They didn’t infiltrate specific institutions or mountains/spheres in order to “Christianize” those. If your methodology was meant to be utilized, why didn’t Jesus Himself employ this strategy by allowing those who wanted to make Him King do so in order that He would have the requisite political influence, thereby creating a sort of ‘top down’ approach to missions? Why did He instead just walk from town to town healing (in order to show who He was – John 10:34-38) and preaching?

As a 52 year old man, it was the preaching of the Gospel to me by a few different individuals 30 YEARS ago (and probably others earlier whom I don’t recall) which provided the seeds leading to my eventual conversion a mere 13 years ago when I was 39. (Thankfully, I was able to reach two of these individuals to let them know the fruit of their efforts.) And, since then, I’ve endeavored to put seeds in others by preaching the Gospel to individuals as the opportunity presents itself (the Holy Spirit will let one know when to speak if one is walking in the Spirit). I know of one individual who has professed Christ as a result.

If just one person becomes a true convert through preaching one-on-one then it wouldn’t take long for the Gospel to make its way round the world, especially when we factor in the efforts of individual missionaries whose sole ‘job’ IS to preach the Gospel abroad.

The way I read the Great Commission is that it is two-fold as shown in Matthew 28:19-20: 1) preaching the Gospel – “baptizing them”, i.e. preaching the Gospel in order to gain converts; and 2) providing instruction in order that the convert grows (“teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you”). If we’re honest, we’ll admit there are a LOT of false converts out there who’ve not grown in the least.

I’ll quote from Craig Blomberg’s NAC Commentary on Matthew. Of verse 28:19b Blomberg states emphatically, “…[T]he missiological debate about the validity of group conversions cannot be settled by any appeal to this text….” (p 432). Of 28:20a, he asserts the Great Commission in a general way:

Teaching obedience to all of Jesus’ commands forms the heart of disciple making. Evangelism must be holistic. If non-Christians are not hearing the Gospel and not being challenged to make a decision for Christ, then the church has disobeyed one part of Jesus’ commission. If new converts are not faithfully and lovingly nurtured in the whole counsel of God’s revelation, then the church has disobeyed the other part… (p 433)

Of 28:19a, Blomberg states more specifically:

…Too little is made of [to make disciples] when all attention is centered on the command to “go,” as in countless appeals for missionary candidates, so that foreign missions are elevated to a higher status of Christian service than other forms of spiritual activity. To “make disciples of all nations” does require many people to leave their homelands, but Jesus’ main focus remains on the task of all believers to duplicate themselves wherever they may be…. (p 431)

The key here is wherever they may be. Continuing with the immediately preceding:

…The verb “make disciples” also commands a kind of evangelism that does not stop after someone makes a profession of faith. The truly subordinate participles in v. 19 explain what making disciples involves: “baptizing” them and “teaching” them obedience to all of Jesus’ commandments. The first of these will be a once-for-all, decisive initiation into Christian community. The second proves a perennially incomplete, life-long task (p 431).

Just preach where you’re planted. It’s simple. Then, help the convert grow in knowledge.

It is indeed dominion – a taking of the world for “god”. Christ told us differently. Are you studying the bible for yourself or parroting things that sound good to you? Do I have to begin to point out the error of the music industry and how the church has traded true worship for rock and roll, rap, hip hop..? Do you seriously believe that just because we say the name of “Jesus” in our music that it becomes holy and acceptable to Him? Have you read scripture that specifically tells us to NOT do as the pagans? Have you read scripture repeatedly pointed out here on my blog that warns of wolves in sheep’s clothing that come after the flock? Do you know this is exactly what the 7 mountains has done? Please, take some time and study, study to make sure you are following Christ and His words. Do not follow a smooth talking wolf.

From this point on, all comments supporting the seven mountains will not be approved. I simply won’t waste time rehashing what has already been clearly pointed out. The Holy Spirit will not lead you into following the seven mountains mandate, nor will He lead you to follow any false teacher. It is the church that has become soft. My wife and I saw Lance W. share this ideology at a friends church nearly 2 years ago. At first it sounded plausible and exciting, but in considering it afterwards something about it just seemed to resonate more of the flesh than of God. What you say in your comment is true about the Holy Spirit, He will not lead us into false teaching, but will guide us in all truth. The collective need of the Church is to be more Berean like in recieving any teaching that pops up. We need to go to Scripture to affirm allignment to recieve truth, or accordingly reject falsehood. There are alot of ‘pop preachers’ today in the charasmatic movement gaining fame because people are way to quick to just jump on board with something that sounds like a cool prophetic teaching.

  53. …..having read thru the Post and Comments has been very intersting indeed. Over the 2012-13 Christmas break I had time with the Lord and was given something very similar to the 7M concept. It wsd much later (after showing ppl what had been revealed to me) that I was made aware of the 7M concept.

I watched a few YouTube videos. I was immediately unimpressed by what my spirit was telling me. As a consequence I felt that my guidance over the Christmas break would be confused or interpreted as a 7M endorsement. I have been reluctant to look much further, despite the fact that I have been constantly nudged to finish off the ground work.

Now having read all these comments/posts I’m clearly of the view that the 7M has the Kingdom’s children in disarray.

The “Great Commission” is the very instructions of Jesus. Before we even think of messing with His instructions we need to have rock solid foundations to depart from His teaching.

I’m still waiting to see who posts the Authority and Foundation of any departure from this Gospel. We are NOT talking about an Apostle but Jesus himself. When I read Matthew 28 its His command: ‘Go !….. make Disciples….teach them all my commands’

It would seem, without judging anyone, that we are having a debate about something that is not even established. To those who have espoused this “Mandate”; why are you not demonstrating what you are talking about?

Show us the merits about this ‘mandate’ – rather than just talk about it. Be the shepherd. Do you know my name? Jesus calls me by my name.

To m’kayla: You seem to have developed a further distance from the 7MM over the past three years – or an I incorrect?

To the best of my knowledge, the Seven Mountain thing came from a guy name Abraham Kuyper. In the late 90’s I met up with a Rre-constructionist group. They of course where disciples of Rushdooney, but just as much with Kuyper. He came up with a concept called “spheres” and there where 5.
So, what about the other two? How does this turn into Seven? Media and entertainment where probably not words that someone in the 1890’s would use.

Somewhere along the way, the apostle wannabees picked this up and incorporated it with 5 fold/word faith/ect. NAR. as a hi-bred, would contain the original traits of the 5 spheres as one of it’s parents.

Glancing at a couple of the comments above, someone that does not see it a dangerous and offensive is not grasping what it is. It is fair to call it Christian Nationalism, on a par with Fascism. I —think but do know for sure— that Kuyper’s ideas where part of the ideology behind Afrikaans society and the later emergence of Apartheid.

All of that was long ago but the Seven Mountains concept is a massive influence today. Example: Uganda and murder of homosexuals. One of the central objectives of Re-constructionism was to kill people. No joke.

I don’t. can I ask why you are curious about what day?. But Herb Titus shows up as having a conversion experience in late July 1975. That’s funny.

Rushdooney cranked out his 800 pages of pulp/Institutes of Biblical Law two years before in 1973. This would constitute a heresy and “another gospel” according to Galatians. Gary North( Rushdooney’s son in law) continues the work today. North’s website list a work he wrote in 1987 titled, Liberating Planet Earth. It is dedicated to Loren Cunningham.

      Click to access liberating_planet_earth.pdf

The last paragraph sums up Re-constructionist thought. Bill Bright, Cunningham and Rushdooney would appear to all be 1960-s and 70-s Re-constructionist which included the older “spheres” theology. Now called Seven Mountains, it would become part of the New Apostolic Reformation in 2001.
Either they did or did not receive a miraculous vision in 1975. It’s either yes or no. If no,then .it was a lie and the “vision” was to give the idea a sense of authority and authenticity.
If yes, it would have been demonic deception. If they where believing in re-constructionist heresy as is,then, they are already believing in heresy and this is just more of the same.

Reconstructionist thinking was about by-passing the Cross and killing anyone that resisted God’s will. Seven Mountains and earlier Spheres where the specific objectives needing to be seized. Killing homosexuals for instance, would fall under the Family Mountain. Killing them was progress toward delivering a nation. This is a rejection of repentance for sins.

I agree with you completely, and appreciate that you are holding strongly to the Biblical view on this issue.

I have to go back to an earlier quote in the thread.

“ashabrandi on January 31, 2013 at 2:22 pm said:

“Because from what I have witnessed, I do not see most merging a one world religion. I do however see people wanting the church to operate on higher level of anointing.”

Although ashabrandi seems to support this 7 mountain idea, she does not see the merging of a one world religion. Well, I feel like I am seeing it happen before my eyes. It is the same old lie. Man wishes to be like God. It happened in the garden, it happened at the tower of Babel, and it’s happening today.

I would never put a date on Christ’s coming as the Bible states that no man knows the hour or the day. I would also not put a date on the appearance of the Antichrist. The lack of Biblical knowledge along with flat out disobedience worldwide is putting us in a preparatory state for the appearance of the Antichrist. I am no prophet. However, I see the blending of all of these strange ideas eventually being united against our blessed Trinity.

    Come quickly, Lord Jesus.

Thank you for a very fitting topic for the days in which we live.

  56. The roots of 7 mountain teaching goes far beyond Loren Cunningham and Bill Bright. It was the Dutch (dynamic man) Abraham Kuyper who started the term Spheres of Sovereignty. Rush dooney wrote a book which is entitled as “Institutes of Biblical Law” in 1973 in California. Both Loren Cunningham and Bill Bright were there in California. Francis Schaeffer who is considered to have the same vision mentions Rushdoony all the time. WE CAN SAY THEREFORE IT STARTED IN HOLLAND (NETHERLANDS) ABOUT 100 YRS AGO AND IT IS MODIFIED AND WELL DEVELOPED BY LOREN C. AND BILL B. TO ITS FORM.

THE MODERN “BIBLICAL WORLD VIEW DOCUMENT” OF COR (COALITION ON REVIVAL) DOCUMENT WHICH IS DISPLAYED IN THE INTERNET FOR EVERYBODY TO SEE, CONTAINS 17 DOCUMENTS THAT CAN BASICALLY SUMMARIZED AND MADE TO FIT THE SEVEN MOUNTAINS. (BASICALLY IT IS THE SEVEN MOUNTAINS – EXPANDED TO 17 DOCUMENTS).
NOT ONLY IT IS WRONG AND FALSE TEACHING BUT IT IS DECEIVING SO MANY INTO BELIEVING THAT THEY ARE WORKING FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF KINGDOM OF THE LORD.

THIS IS THE GREATEST DECEPTION IN THE BODY OF CHRIST TODAY. MAY THE LORD HELP.

      • The 7 Spheres/Mountains/Influences of Rushdooney, Kuyper and others along the way eventually migrates to the NAR.
The Re-Constructionist where by definition “teachers of the Law.” And it is spoken of them most clearly:
5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
        6 From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

They failed to understand that the Law “is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient”, … It does not matter how many good deeds you do or Law you keep.

        For it is written:
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;…..
The reason that the Seven Mountains doctrine held by Re-Constructionist like Cunningham would merge into the New Apostolic Reformation in 2001 may not be immediately visible. After all, the reform side ( such as the Re-Constructionist who where NeoCalvanist) of the Body of Christ is not known for signs and wonders, such as was common in the Latter Rain, Word/Faith, Ect.
But it is foretold by the words of our Lord concerning the days of the Son of Man, meaning the end of the Age:
37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.
That is a stinking rotting body that attracts the evil spirits and would explain the association of angels and wonders with the NAR. Evil spirits are angels.

God is giving them over to a lie.
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

“But it is foretold by the words of our Lord concerning the days of the Son of Man, meaning the end of the Age: [Matt 24] 37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.
“That is a stinking rotting body that attracts the evil spirits and would explain the association of angels and wonders with the NAR. Evil spirits are angels.”

Yup, excellent point! And for two scriptural reasons directly related to this post…

          1) Eagles are unclean/carrion birds:

Revelation 18:2 describes Babylon the Great as full of unclean birds and evil spirits: “And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of DEVILS, and the hold of every FOUL SPIRIT, and a cage of every UNCLEAN and hateful BIRD.”

Isaiah also foretells of Babylon as full of every wicked/unclean creature PRIOR to her destruction: “And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees’ excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there. But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and OWLS shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there. And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.” (Isa 13:19-22)

Along with eagles, owls are also unclean birds mentioned in Lev 11:17 and Deut 14:16. So are cormorants & pelicans (Isa 34:11, Zeph 2:14) and storks (Zech 5:9 — regarding the ‘restoration’ of a woman named Wickedness in Babylon/Shinar).

The discouraging thing is, I think we have yet to see the full measure of evil spirits that will accompany the ‘lying signs and wonders’ of this movement in preparation for the antichrist.

          2) They will get their ‘7 mountains’ – Babylon the Great, full of devils, foul spirits, and every unclean bird, sits as a queen on her ‘7 mountains’ saying “I, and none beside” (Rev 18:2,7; Isa 47:8).

Revelation 17:9 — “And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.”

We know from Rev 13:1 that the seven heads of the beast have a blasphemous name on them. I’m hard pressed to find a better example of blasphemy than to fall into delusion because they don’t love the truth enough, and then ‘reclaim’ the kingdoms of men to actually build the antichrist’s kingdom… and all in the name of God and Jesus Christ!

The encouragement? God knows what He is doing! Let us remember that Babylon is a golden cup in His hand (Jeremiah 51:7, Jer 25:15-29) to not only judge His people first (1 Peter 4:17) and separate the tares from the wheat, but also to judge Jerusalem and the rest of the nations before He destroys her via the 10 kings (Rev 17:17); that is, God then puts the cup of His fury/wrath/indignation in her hands to drink (Jer 25:26)

I am stunned to be seeing this play out before our eyes. I only just came to the Lord 2 years ago, and I know He is still bringing people out of these deceptions, though the time is getting shorter. May God strengthen us to continue sharing the truth in love and warning others. And always, most importantly, preaching the real gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ and not being moved away from our only foundation stone, even when others stumble over Him!

  59. I just heard about the teaching of seven mountains from my pastor.
Your article is great, so let me leave some my comments.

I can understand that as the conclusion you do not agree with these seven mountains teaching. I really agree that these teaching may become a trap when the will to influence becoming god and church depend on money not God Himself, so the main agenda to make disciple of nations for Christ is never accomplished.

However I agree that leaders (kings of each mountains) are shaping the culture of a nation.David become a king and priest together and influence the Israelite to worship God. While on the other hands, there are many kings of Judah and Israel who are in position to influence (e.g Ahab), but direct their people to the idolatry worship.

Not all of us are called to serve in church organization. Most of us are in marketplace where we spend 8 hours per day in a week (or more for some). Then, are we merely looking for money to live? I believe it should be more meaningful than that. Our marketplace is our field of harvest (our mountain), where we are there for Kingdom’s sake. Becoming a role model how a man should live and do influence the decision makers to know God as well.

I would like to get feedback as well.

    • the point is tho, where is such a strategy or objective of bringing Heaven to earth in fullness – e so that is apparent that it is the dominant force or voice over society & culture. detailed in scripture..?

& we should be very mindful that both the New Age movement & muslim brotherhood have the same ideology of taking the world by storm – to their own ends…

  60. Hi Sam. First, it is commendable that you research what you are told in church. May the Lord reward your initiative. Moving on:

I’m “that Guy” who tends to have critical things to say about the NAR. (not sure if you know what that means but Seven Mountains ideology is part of it’s makeup. Seven Mountains=false gospel. NAR=false apostles) There is a reason for this Sam, it’s call memories.
My son and I where driving some years ago when he turned to me for no reason and said, “Dad, maybe the purpose of your life is to serve as a warning to others”. I thought it was hilarious, mostly because I have made disastrous mistakes and agreed with him. So the mistakes where drugs? gambling? what? Well I look at my biggest mistakes as having all taken place inside the Church. Dumbest of all was associating/tolerating false doctrine and false teachers with a ministry that I made donations too.
The funny part is that I was never deceived. I know the scriptures very well. In fact since I was a child I have known them, even being taught to read from the King James Bible. It is a matter of being a doer of the Word and not a hearer only. We learn from our mistakes. Massive donor losses and waste of time= massive practical learning.

With that said I don’t know that feedback regarding The Seven Mountains is really what you need most. Within seconds of beginning to read your post what came to mind was this:
…. 2 Cor. 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?…
Sam, you seem to have at least some level of knowledge of spiritual sayings and scripture. (do not be offended, I can not tell how much you know the Word of God) But it is not apparent if you understand the Gospel in any way.

…… John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God….
Jesus did not come to influence individuals or nations Sam. You do not enter the Kingdom through the influence of media or government. Do you understand the difference from Jesus and some group of wannabe apostles trying to take over the government?
……. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Do you believe that Christ came to get nations to obey God’s Law? If so, you have a complete misunderstanding of what the Law is:
….Romans 3:19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin…

Can’t nations be transformed? Can’t the Kingdom be brought to earth by his church influencing culture? No Sam!! You must be born again to enter. What of the Law then? What about morality and good behavior, does it not count? No Sam!! You must be born again or you will not escape death. It’s called the law of sin and death because the knowledge of sin(remember the tree in the Garden of Eden) brings condemnation and death.
…..Romans 8:1-8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God

Sam, yes we could talk of the Seven Mountains, but what about you? And God’s kingdom? Is there not a Kingdom? What about the nations? Yes there is a Kingdom, but there is no point in discussing spiritual things unless you know you are born again. Are you born again, or have you believed in vain? 1 Cor. 15:1-8

I hope you post again. I have prayed to the Father that things are well with you. Oh, I almost forgot, no David was not a priest and king. It is very ironic you mentioned that though, I can explain if you want. It might help you to understand the difference between the Gospel and Seven Mountains.

    Nathan
