Peace in a Globalized Society

Hi Guys!

I haven’t listened to all of this video, but wanted to put the link up so that you can become more aware of what was discussed.

The place of faith in the transformation of societies in North Africa was a key area of the conversation. Tony Blair said:

“All over the region, as their societies become more open, they will have people of different faiths. It is essential to begin that dialogue. If we can also establish a faith dialogue and partnership, that in itself will be of major importance. It is far more likely that democratic systems will take root and will deliver prosperity and opportunity if there is an open and respectful attitude, according dignity to those of another faith. Whilst being completely true to their tradition and religion, people can be open also to others of a different religion.”

Tony Blair and Rick Warren also took head on the misconception that engaging with those of other faiths means a dilution of one’s own religious beliefs.

Pastor Rick stated: “Interfaith dialogue doesn’t mean compromising your faith; it means understanding somebody else’s and not watering it down. We’re not trying to find the lowest common denominator we’re saying, ‘But how can we get along?'”

We live, work and play in a world that is made up of many religions. As Christians we are called to love and to preach the gospel to everyone. We are not called to promote peace in a “globalized society”.  We are not called to find a “common good” between people so that we can all get along together. (We already do that!) There is no good in any of us.  Nor should we be manipulated by rulers or apostates to follow them in finding methods to share the faith separate from what has been laid out for us in scripture.

There will be no true peace until Jesus Christ returns and sets up His own kingdom. We cannot begin that process without Him and He will be the only one to initialize it. Until then all efforts are futile. Watch who you walk after.

Isaiah 9:6-8

6 For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Matthew 16:26

26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?

Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

  1. Oh my gosh, I can’t believe he would even use the words of Rodney King: “Can’t we all get along.” !!!! To answer his question: NO! We can’t “just get along.” “To get along” usually means that we Christians have to give up what we believe for the “greater good,” for the “sake of peace.” Christianity is the only religion that has the absolute truth of the Way, the Truth and the Life. To give up even one iota of it, would be compromise. Rick Warren for sure is gonna lead the church straight to the anti-christ. I think he is trying for some kind of “peace” prize.

    • Did you watch all of it? essh!
It doesn’t surprise me the mention of R King – anything to get attention or applause – emotional reaction.
True, this pied piper’s trail gets deeper and deeper into the darkness all the time. People get blinded because its hidden behind the good works motif and that’s where they go blind. The church has been removed from the dependency of the Holy Spirit for so long, or has been seduced by the other spirit called holy, and has turned instead to programs peddled by those in large churches. We can’t even call them churches anymore! I wonder what kind of war will ensue when the purpose driven meet up with the 7 mountains and they all think they are entitled to the rule.

  2. After discussing the Antichrist in a recent prophecy class, we all agreed that a certain US President although often worshipped and with a huge narcissistic personality disorder is not the Antichrist but had the spirit of antichist. The teacher then asked, well then who is the false prophet?

I replied “Rick Warren?” to a roomful of laughter. I think I may have been right on despite the sarcasm.

    • We can certainly see those two are in cahoots! The connections are too close for anyone to take comfort – the prayer in the name of “Isa”, the sudden health focus with eastern focus and the illegal Obamacare. How many pastors have been lured in to follow after this piper in Christian disguise?
