For Offended Readers

I am amazed at the people who have come against Swapping One Lie For Another article in defense of John MacArthur. Someone comes and points out error, and my readers are OFFENDED. Really? You can accept the fact of great error and the wrong teaching of Bethel, IHOP, IAHR, NAR, and so on, yet when a brother in the Lord, and a dear friend of mine points out false teaching of one of your favorites you become offended! Why is that? You desire the acceptance and approval of man more than you do that of Christ. You accept and believe the teaching of man above the teaching of Christ. The truth is found in scripture, not in a man’s opinion of it. Pay attention. How do you think I felt in the first beginning days of my research in what I had been involved with? How offended, shocked and horrified was I to find those I trusted, learned from and believed in were deceived?

It is you, the offended ones who do not know the truth, who do not care to hear it. Why? Because it will cause you to take a closer look at what you hold so dear to you. For the woman who stated she would look elsewhere for teaching against Bethel – fine. Please do so. But it does not change the facts of truth presented here. As for the other who chanted the “judge not” clause. Please do some study on your own to find out what that truly means. We are indeed called to judge teaching and prophecy.

People, please. We live in a time of the apostasy. Many are falling away from Christ in leaps and bounds for other faiths. Many are coming in the name of Christ and yet teaching doctrine and methods of worship that have nothing to do with who Christ truly is. And yet we have readers and commentors who think we/I should be soft on them. I am told I lack grace and love. False teachers and prophets have been set up to deceive you. It has been a deliberate act to pull you away from Christ. Speaking the truth is an act of love and I will not back down from doing so. And if that offends you, maybe you should spend some time and find out why you are so offended by the truth.

  1. Right on. I find that it’s kinda like a pendulum swing. When you first come out of the false “charismatic” church, you swing to the other extreme- the false “Reformed” church. It’s not until you see clearly how both extremes are sinful and errant, that you learn to take a middle ground, testing all things against scripture, and learning to let the Spirit lead you in ALL TRUTH. I’ve been there. My favorites are not favorites any more- and it was hard to learn what I could and couldn’t trust… Now I know, if I’m not reading the Bible everyday, I shouldn’t be wasting my time with anything else…..

  2. M’kayla, you might not understand how this works. The rules of the camp are that you are permitted, even encouraged to throw stones at the idols of other camps, but you are expected to blind yourself to the idolatry and corruption within your own. This is especially true if a well aimed stone makes contact with a popular idol with many devotees.

I’m not sure what doctrinal issues are being debated here…false teaching or false teachers and false prophets aren’t a new twist on our faith…its probably more common than many of us would like to admit…I know that I have my ‘Darling one’ teachers and preachers who many of my close friends and some family aren’t in agreement with…what comes to my mind on this topic is this…I cannot be so enamored with a personality as to let that opinion lead me into error…I am to be guided by the Holy Spirit into all truth… I will work on not being put out by those who tend to disagree and spend more time in private devotion and prayer… Thanks for reading and God Bless us all to come together in a unified front against the father of all lies…

  4. The JM devotee sites delete any negative comments that are on target and they can’t answer. Now, they will post comments that come across as not so reasoned and intelligent, because that is how they want to portray the other side. It is all quite deceitful. Dr. Brown at least, to his credit, allows all sorts of critical responses.

The moral of this story is that we all need to beware of our bent toward idolatry. This might explain what you are experiencing: http://endtimechaverim.wordpress.com/2013/09/24/sauls-davids-and-samuels-in-our-lives/

    • Chaya, thank you. I like this –

Prophets are not always warriors, but they can and must act in that capacity when the warriors fail or lose heart. Saul neglected to slay King Agag of the Amalekites, so Samuel picked up a sword and slew him. Sometimes a Samuel will need to take hold of a weapon.

If there is a Samuel in your life, listen to him/her and learn. Just make sure that you are dealing with a Samuel, and not a Simon the sorcerer or a false prophet that speaks according to the dictates of the marketplace, for the benefit of itching ears who seek to gather up teachers that approve of and encourage their lusts

I also think of Deborah the OT prophet who gave a reminder to Barak, following him into battle upon his request. It was the woman Jael, who did the slaying. 🙂 Blessings my friend.

  5. Hi M’Kayla,

From what I can tell, you were following scripture…
1You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine.
    Titus 2:1 (NIV)

15These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.
    Titus 2:15 (NIV)

11Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.
    Acts 17:11 (NIV)

20Do not treat prophecies with contempt 21but test them all; hold on to what is good, 22reject every kind of evil.
    1 Thessalonians 5:20-22 (NIV)

14When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in front of them all, “You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?
    Galatians 2:14 (NIV)

Obviously obedience to God’s word will be met with resistance when peoples’ toes get stepped on. We all need correction – even our “favorites”. We can’t be hypocritical, but it does hurt when you are the messenger who gets shot! I understand, and pray you will be encouraged by supportive brothers & sisters & His Word! Don’t worry – Be Happy! 🙂

  8. Stand your ground. The people of Christ have stood idly by while the preachers have bastardized the Word of God. James MacDonald, Pat Robertson, John Piper, and yes, John MacArthur. Just look at the GOP to see where these guys’ teaching takes us: these guys need to be taught how to talk to women! That subject right there is enough to let us know that we need to take what is valuable from our preachers and let them know in no uncertain terms what is BOGUS. Paul explained how HE treats women. It was not a command from God.

  9. M’Kayla! I think I read your heart, at least a little bit. You are correct, even if it is hard for any of us to state the exact truth. The article you first referred to I do not remember, but maybe that is ok. What I know is that MacArthur does not believe certain of the gifts of the Holy Spirit are valid for today. That alone is enough for me to disregard whatever else he says as probably biased and not based on the whole truth of God. It reminds me that in 1970-71 I wrote a paper for a class in a secular university titled “All the Gifts of the Holy Spirit are Necessary for the Proper Functioning of the Church Today”. My position on that has not changed since then. What tends to happen over and over again is that some leader will teach incorrectly, such as Pentecostals insisting that everyone must speak in tongues. Then someone else, such as MacArthur, will fall into the opposite ditch, and say no one can speak in tongues. The problem becomes difficult when one, such as MacArthur, has developed a great following, and started a seminary so others can teach according to what he has decreed. And then someone like myself may live in a small town where we have a choice: go to one church, where in order to be accepted, one must at least PRETEND to speak in tongues; or else go to the other church where if you do speak in tongues, they will ostracize you and possibly throw you out. So, in such situations, I stay home, and fellowship with the one or two who are not following a leader who is in a ditch. I read my Bible now mostly by listening, because reading (and typing this) is very difficult for me with a broken neck.
Where it has been hard for me is with people I have generally respected over many years, and yet I must differ with them in some areas. Example: David Wilkerson, who I regard as a great man of God. And yet, he himself has given certain predictive prophecies which did not come true. That saddens me very greatly. So even with those whose teaching I generally like (I have my own paper copies of most of Wilkerson’s sermons he mailed out to me over a period of about 35 years.), I do not automatically accept everything anyone says.
Yes, we can talk about only reading the Bible and praying/worshipping on your own, but unless you are a hermit, you in this continent will mostly have some contact with preachers, especially those who are sometimes very good at encouraging us when we are in dire need of “One called alongside to help” (Wilkerson was a great encourager!).
Sometimes I have found it good to learn from a leader in one area, while disregarding that same person in another area. Example: Paul Washer, who is good in the area of salvation, but who is a Calvinist, which I am not. Generally, one of my favourite preachers is Leonard Ravenhill, who I can listen to at home.
M’Kayla, I love most of what you say, very much. You have touched on some areas desperately needing to be heard, but which very few have the Spirit to say.
M’Kayla, may God’s Holy Holy Holy Spirit fill you to overflowing with His own wisdom, discerning, and knowledge!
“So then, each of us must give account of himself to God.”

Now I want to look up the article you are talking about “Swapping One Lie For Another.” I can understand the difficulty some people are having when confronted with the truth for the first time possibly. I know for about the first 6 months my mouth just dropped open. The big lie we have all been fed is staggering. And I still realize I still only know in part. Satan has been very busy working on deceiving the masses and lulling us to sleep. I am so thankful I am waking up. And thank you M’Kayla for being willing to put yourself out here to help us. And I was touched by your compassion. Proclaiming the Truth in Love is certainly the key ingredient in God’s ministry.

  12. John MacArthur is teaching believers that they may take the mark of the beast and still be saved.

A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink of the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever. THERE IS NO REST NIGHT OR DAY FOR THOSE WHO WORSHIP THE BEAST AND HIS IMAGE, OR FOR ANYONE WHO RECEIVES THE MARK OF HIS NAME.” (Rev 14:9-11) (emphasis mine)

On that basis alone, I would kindly disregard even considering him (MacArthur) to be a teacher of the Word of God. M’Kayla, you have taken a stand firmly in the Word of God, and of course, you are being persecuted for it. You keep pointing them to the Word. The rest is out of our hands.

I think many of us have become good at recognizing the persecutions behind us: the Todd Bentley/Bill Johnson/Benny Hinn/NAR/Brownsville/Toronto/Healing Room followers. There is a persecution coming ahead, isn’t there? It will be made up of nominal “Christians” who take the mark of the beast and persecute and betray those of us who stand firmly in the Word and try to warn others.

Should this happen in our life times, which side do you think MacArthur will be on?

  13. Tenderhearted said, “Sometimes I have found it good to learn from a leader in one area, while disregarding that same person in another area” and I think that is how all of us as believers need to be. We have to discern teachings as we listen: Comparing them to the Word of God.

We can not afford to categorize teachers as an all or none source of truth. You know, the logic that says “I will listen and believe everything so-and-so says. He’s got it right!” If we do that, we will end up following the earthly teacher instead of The Teacher, Jesus our Lord.

I empathize with those coming out of charismania, WOF, etc, It was so mind boggling to realize how much garbage I had swallowed when I came out of those. I was desperately looking for someone/preacher/teacher to listen to who could show me the truth. At some point I had to stop looking for that all-wise human and start discerning what teachers say piece by piece and leave it at that.

WE DO need to ask ourselves why we get so offended if someone disagrees with a “favorite” teacher. We should ask ourselves why we have such an emotional response. Do we think our favorites are unable to make a mistake, or have it wrong in a certain area?

We all have the capacity to be motivated by greed and power and the desire to maintain the status quo (particularly when it serves us well). The high profile church pastors are no less susceptible. They may actually be more susceptible if they have much to lose by being wrong, or cannot admit to having it wrong for fear of looking foolish or losing church membership numbers. I have noticed very few of the big name guys ever admit to simply NOT knowing how something works in the Kingdom of God. That, I think, is partially our culture. We expect the big names to have all the answers, and let’s admit it; it would be easier if we didn’t have to work those things out ourselves or just admit that we can’t quite fathom it all.

My opinion is that the whole root of these problems is the way our ‘churches’ are run- with very little REAL submission one to another. Almost every big church is run like a corporation with a CEO at the helm. A CEO whom no one really questions.

  14. yes the untangling…. totally spot on… we have been sucked into – this teacher or that teacher whilst the point is that none have the complete handle on the word of truth… sorry but that’s just the way it is – NONE is infallible… & we CANNOT & SHOULDNT just trust what we are being told.. M’Kayla would be the first to say & has done many many times – on this blog, go find out the truth for yourself, research the scriptures be a good & healthy berean… as those same scriptures command us to do see the bottom line is God’s word – not what any of us *think* or hold dear as opinion …

remember that the “names” we hold in esteem (or disdain) have marketed their teachings & developed highly slick marketing practices for years & years now — they know exactly how to communicate en masse to achieve maximum sales… & all of this tickles itching ears

now it comes down to what you want- halfbaked, twisted up teachings or the sound & solid reliable word of God…. ? we need no other than the scriptures, there is nothing in there that needs expanding or explaining… the truth is revealed by the Holy spirit who dwells within the believer… if our mindset & our heritage in the church is to always receive “additional” insight from the ones we uphold – what this says is that we have gone off track, Church – holding these “special teachers” & the things they are saying – higher than our risen saviour Jesus & we are guilty of undermining the precious, infallible, complete word of GOD

how well do we know the word? it is our only & final authority – the only thing we can trust for absolute truth… & unless a teacher of the word comes out of & from that place of humble submission to it error is already present…

You shall not surely die.” I can almost hear the masses mocking and cursing at the “refuseniks.” I think the mark may be a tattoo that incorporates corrupted DNA that will then become a part of the recipient’s body and cannot be removed, as it will infect every cell of their body. Did you know that torah forbids tattoos? Just a thought.

I do believe some are called to be teachers, but true shepherds lay down their lives for the sheep; they don’t look to make a living off of them.

  16. Mkayla, Could it be that you are percieved as being less than gracious because you have said nothing about adhering to the Biblical admonition to go to the brother who offends you alone first (perhaps call, write or email him) with your concerns and then only after he has not responded appropriately take 2 or 3 other witnesses with you and again approach him and only after failing to get a satisfactory reply do you broadcast it to others? John MacArthur is a well educated and trusted, upright, proven man of God. It should be with great trepidation you disparage one with so many years of faithful service to our Lord. We are all capable of making eggregious errors as we frail humanity, you included. The Bible warns us to be careful less we bite and devour each other because we are capable of doing just that while remonstrating our motives are pure.

    • Jennifer, I haven’t disparaged anyone. This article in question isn’t mine, first off, although I do agree with the research and results. Anyone would. Secondly, JM hasn’t offended me personally, so your scenario does not fit this situation, biblical as it may be and would apply in other situations. The truth may offend you, but how do you think it will be on the day of judgement when we have been found to be silent when we should have spoken in warning. JM is no greater a Christian or “man of God” than one who serves the Lord, unnoticed, and even “uneducated”.

This is the very last comment in favor of JM that I will approve. Everything following goes into the trash. I put the info out there to be helpful, take it or not, it is up to you. I won’t put in the time reexplaining to people who have no clue.

  17. Yes, he’s, “America’s pastor.” I can imagine he will stand next to America’s president. There are a few people, that when I hear their voices I feel sick inside. I don’t know, it must be the evil expressing itself, the voice of the serpent that causes this reaction. His speech is so slick, such pretty false words. It’s very disturbing. I don’t know if you have ever experienced this. It doesn’t matter what the person is saying; something of who they are is issuing out of their voice. It is the voice of another.

I had the same experience listening to Bill Johnson. It was a mixture of truth and twisted truth, and at first I couldn’t put my finger on what was bothering me. Then I got the impression that it was like he doesn’t want to love God or serve him; he just wants to (as it were) steal God’s credit card number so he can buy stuff. See, I can use my husband’s credit card because of our relationship. But the one who comes into the sheepfold not by the door is a thief and a robber.

  18. Okay, I listened to the audio. Interesting JM claims we will have to take the mark of the beast in order to function in the beast economy, just as he said the widow shouldn’t have given her money because she needed it to live on. God is able to provide manna in the wilderness and a place of safety. And if not, like Daniel’s companions, we will still not bow down. They overcame him because of the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony, (and the part you don’t hear) and they loved not their lives unto death.

I remember reading about a follower of the Way in ancient Rome, where he convinced himself that he would have to compromise by worshipping the emperor as this was required for his employment. After all, he had to eat and provide for his family. But then he realized that he didn’t have to eat and he didn’t have to provide for his family if this was the cost. It is easier to say than to do something like this.

I’m sure Bill Hybels and Brian Broderson will all be urging their flocks on too.

M’Kayla, Because of the state of the Church, many times, you and a few others like you are the only ones on Earth we can turn to, when we want the things God is showing us validated and confirmed. And as a result, we are encouraged to go forward, refusing to go along with the crowd and refusing to keep our mouths shut, while we warn others of the deception that has come into the Church Thank you for being obedient and courageous enough to step out and take the heat, so that we have the courage to do the same. We desperately need the example that you are to encourage us, M’kayla. These Scriptures mean so much to me and I think of you, as they come back to my remembrance. Matthew 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

  21. “And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” What else besides what is says, could possibly be true. God is not a liar, He is the same, yesterday, today and forever. It is man that changes and we have to accept that teachers we once thought were right on, are not today. They, just like us, are subject to the deluding spirit that God has allowed to come on the face of the Earth. Don’t be deceived, you can be deceived. And so can they. There has never been a time in my life time, and I am 65, that it is more important that I read and understand the Word of God for myself, rather than trust the five fold ministry gifts today to lead me in the right direction. A tremendous clue to where to look for deception among other places is to the preachers and teachers who others are heaping to themselves. These have to be the big names or the Church is not heaping them on themselves. It is shocking but true. Once we can accept that, we are more able to hear the Lord for ourselves. And then God is faithful to lead us to others, like M’kayla, who can encourage us and vice-versa in these perilous, deceptive end times.

  23. Dear Readers,

First and foremost, hats off to Mkayla, for not braking ranks in this WAR!

Okay, I have a story for you. Maybe it applies here and maybe not, but I believe that I was unfairly, verbally attacked by these three people in a supposed to be, Christian, Faith Based AA Group.

And I want to say, I’m not a member, nor am I affiliated with AA or any of its associates in any way!

A friend of mine who heads this group asked me, if I would help him with the group. I had been there years prior, and kinda chalked the whole thing up to too many rules and regulations on the surface, and just really didn’t wanna find out what was underneath.

So I said yes and started chairing this AA meeting as a fill in for this guy. These people are to be very Leary of. Just listen to this:

I began by reading the appropriated material out loud and instead the normal:”Hi, I’m (whoever) and I’m an alcoholic/drug addict, I said”Hi, I’m Doug, and I was an alcoholic/drug addict until I met The Lord Jesus Christ and he healed me.”

We’ll, suprisingly enough at first I was getting good response with this and so after about a month I started referring to divine healing for alcoholics and educating them in where their faith should be!

That it was not to be in the MEETINGS but in Christ and Him Crucified!

I began pointing them more and more to looking to God ALONE. To only use the meetings as a tool to help u by listening to others and supporting each other with their unique but yet similar stories. And I always encourage laughing and putting the past where it belongs; in the past!

This was going quite well up until about 6 weeks ago this couple from a near by town who happen to run the local Triangle Group came over. They seemed nice enough, until they talked.

These two were loud, obnoxious, and hateful. Mind you, I can be part of all three when I get ticked over something said against my Lord and Savior. But these guys starting coming down on me because I had been telling people that I had been healed of Alcoholism.

You would have thought I had killed somebody. I was finally attacked by them in a very hostile verbal way after a meeting here recently. Absolutely ludicrous!!!

These guys basically tried to shout me down for standing up to the truth about AA and their 12 steps!!!

They wanted to SILENCE THE GOSPEL! Yet, they were Christian???

I think Not! They are enemies of The Cross of Christ Paul says.

They deny divine healing and that God can and will do anything.

They tell people that they are alcoholic and will alway
    s be alcoholic!

That is a lie straight from the pits of HELL!

We CANNOT GIVE GROUND. I was able to infiltrate and help for over 6 months at least is how I see it. Many I believe we’re led to Christ.

It was like these little demons just walked right in that meeting and tried to destroy what I had established as truth the past six months. They are up under law! You can’t have it both ways!

It’s either Grace or Law! You can choose the method by which ye will be judged by. But I will choose GRACE EVERY TIME!

Don’t give in and don’t give up. We are to do what The Word of God says to do until the trumpet sounds and Jesus comes back to get us. That’s it!

Their pitiful attempt to thwart the work of God will not go unheard of in the halls of heaven.

    In Christ Always,

    Doug

We must all be courageous. One of these was a friend of mine. Sometimes we have to make hard decisions. This war is not easy. Many of us have been wounded by false doctrine. We know what it is and want terribly to keep anyone from experiencing the things we have.

  26. My take is authoritarian, controlling Christian leaders/ministries that practice spiritual and other forms of abuse do more to turn people away from the truth than all the atheists combined. As Ghandi so well said, “I like your Christ; I don’t like your Christians.”

    Like

  27. Actually, as respected by many that Ghandi was, he was really very deceived. He is another who twisted the Words of the Bible by adding things in and ignoring other things or taking them out. According to Ghandi, he has said, “What does Jesus mean to me ? To me, He was one of the greatest teachers, humanity has ever had. To his believers, he was God’s only begotten Son.” The truth that Ghandi leaves out is that Son of God was only one discription of Jesus . But even Jesus said, “I and the Father are One.” He also said, “if you have seen me you have seen the Father.” The Bible says, Jesus is the exact image of the Father. The exact radiance of Him. Here Jesus is saying, “He is God.” Ghandi would never agree to that but he can still call him one of the greatest teachers humanity has ever had? Another of Ghandi’s quotes about the Bible was, “There is one thing which came to me in my early studies of the Bible. It seized me immediately. I read the passage: ‘Make this world the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and everything will be added unto you’.” But that is nowhere close to what the Bible says. It says, “seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all things shall be added unto you.” “Seek” does not mean “Make” by any stretch of the imagination, except in Ghandi’s mind, which obviously is very deceived when it comes to who Jesus says He is and therefore, who God is and on and on and on. Not a good one to quote when it comes to understanding the Bible and the ways and mind of God. Just another false teacher!

  28. I wasn’t doing a dissertation either on Ghandi’s theology or his life, which has some very strange things that I wouldn’t post on a family friendly blog.

However, I believe his observation of Christians, which was based upon his own personal experiences and not his understanding of scripture, is accurate. I know you can say, “don’t toss the baby out with the bathwater.” But sometimes the bathwater is so dirty you can’t see the baby.

I can imagine that Ghandi viewed Christians in South Africa abusing both blacks and Asians as well as British Christians having no qualms about oppressing and exploiting his fellow Indian citizens, and had a problem with the disconnect. Get it?

  29. One day, should “they” finally heed” the truth they will thank those who defended it! Until then .. We honor the Word’s admonishment to “contend (that means fight!) for the faith once delivered to the saints! I’ve heard and met Jacob Prasch … Brilliant defender! Blessings💗

  30. Many more will be offended as time goes by.

In these last days, there are no heroes in the Christian mass media. If a man is promoted by the world (and the world’s book companies, TV channels, DVD makers, etc.which is what the Christian mass media is) then he is useful to the world.

    Good job.

  31. Hello,
I am very interested and yet unsure of the exact false teachings out there. I recently went to a voice of the prophets conference and all these people were there Randy Clark Patricia King etc and there was some things I was fine with others I was skeptical of. I want to know what these other “gospels” are. I believe in Jesus and his miracles and that we are called to do things as He did . John 14:12
Yet there are just sureties I am looking for because I know some people that are really far into this stuff like global awakening in PA and stuff. I see nothing wrong with being prophetic but apparently there’s other Gospels I am just curious as to what they are and this stuff seems to have me in a “static” zone because of all these “truths” I’m like a kitten with a laser pointer tryin to come to my senses or something

    • Neil, the prophetic reveals Christ. It is not about personal words uplifting man and all the great things he will do or where he will go to do them. It all sounds right at first, but go to the word of God and find where these kinds of “prophecies” were done. You won’t find them there. Jesus came to preach the gospel. He is the Word. And yes, he healed many people. We can do the works but not to the degree He did them because we are not him, we are not God.

      • Yeah we’re not God but he lives in us, and in John 14:12 it says we will do the same works and even greater than He did

        • I believe the greater works were displayed in the book of Acts and I do believe the are apparent today. Bethel/charismania loves to quote that scripture. And with it allows every thing imaginable to them. These events are not of God, they are of the occult. Please be careful.

  32. There is only one gospel: if you accept Christ as Lord and saviour, you have it all. Simple. His gifts are great to minister with, but that is all. We don’t need anymore than what we already have in Him…to seek earnestly for the gifts of the Holy Spirit is to seek to serve your neighbour. If anyone preaches that you are incomplete because you have not anything; that you need to add anything else other than the gospel to validate your stance as in right standing before God, then that person preaches not the finished works of the cross, but a message of seeking power for oneself; a different gospel. Be wary of any message that proclaims that the gospel must be accompanied by signs and wonders, as this was never the focus in scripture. When Paul mentions the signs and miracles he performed to ‘prove’ his ministry, he does so as a side note and quickly dismisses them as unimportant compared to preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour. Those who actively seek signs and wonders as essential proof of a movement of the Spirit are labelled as adulterous by Christ himself.

That is not to say the Holy Spirit does not do such things, because the Lord knows I know He certainly does! But gifts of the Spirit are always to serve others, to bring people into a place of receiving the Truth, and sometimes to simply bless us, but if they are labelled as an essential part of the gospel, walk. Try telling the many faithful brothers and sisters in North Korea, or Nigeria, or anywhere of extreme persecution, that if they had simply achieved ‘ascended thinking’ or had more faith in what Christ has done for us, they could have victory over their enemies on the Earth and not been martyred for their faith. To die for Christ is the greatest privilege we have; humility and (seeming) defeat wins because it exposes sin for what it is, but you won’t hear that often! The greater works Christ mentions is the speaking of Truth to the lost. I mean, lets have a reasonable look at this… what could be ‘greater’ than the raising of the dead? What could we do that is ‘greater’ than that? Surely it is walking, serving and speaking in the Spirit to the lost across the world, revealing the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ to those in darkness? That certainly sounds like great work to me!

The True gospel really is as simple as scripture makes it: Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God who is God, paid the price of sin by His blood, took the wrath of God, died and was raised again, so that we may die to sin and be raised in life through Him if we repent of our ways, lay down our lives and submit to His authority. If anything is added or taken away from that, and deemed as ‘essential’, then walk away.

Forever seeking the Truth in love,

    Phil.

  33. There are other spirits, another jesus, other gospels–and they are taught by false teachers and proclaimed by false prophets and apostles. You did very well to speak frankly against this mess. Those who sit under these wolves without the Holy Spirit kicking up a fuss need to be asking the question: is He even present or have you ignored his promptings?

    Good job.
