I originally put this blog up to dispel the false teaching of the healing rooms and the excesses found and taught in charismatic beliefs and the false prophetic of which I had personal experience. While I do very much still believe in the power of God and the spiritual gifts (It is in itself a miracle that I do, given that experience) I have found many of the teachings that are popular today to be false, unfounded in scripture.
This is what I expose here and I make every effort to base my thinking from a biblical standpoint. These are teachings, teachers, apostles, and prophets under the movements of the latter rain, the Toronto Blessing, The Lakeland Revival/Outpouring, Word of Faith/Health/Prosperity Gospel, the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR), Kingdom Now or Dominionism, Manifest Sons of God and the Emergent Church.
If you are involved in these movements, these teachings, and their teachers and prophets you will more than likely be very offended at my blog. When I first began to discover that what I believed and taught others was wrong I was also offended. So I understand first hand the emotional turmoil it will bring. I didn’t want to believe or accept I had been so wrong, so deceived. So much of the popular teachings are based on some truth and some lie. This is where I encourage everyone to please pull out the bible and check their words. Do they line up? There can be no mixture of truth and lie. I am not here to speak badly against a person, but I do expose their teachings. We are all called to do this and had we been these false teachers would not be in the power they are now.
But, the bible is the final authority for all of us. Acts 17:11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.
If you would like to debate with me and the others and comment accordingly, you are encouraged to do that here. You are welcome to disagree, but please do so from a biblical standpoint. I will not post comments that are hateful in their nature. If you seek only to call me names and speak your mind from a fleshy standpoint I will delete your comment without further consideration. I did not do this in the beginning, however, I have found that I spend a great amount of time trying to make sense of comments only to find after the fact those who sent them want nothing more than to argue. It is senseless and time-consuming and those who read those comments are not edified in any way. It does not bring glory to God that we come in His name, then rip each other to shreds with our words. That may happen on other blogs, but not here.
Please keep your comments focused on the topic. If you read a lot please don’t save your thoughts and then post them as one. It is confusing for the reader and too time-consuming for me to get to the bottom line. It also invites others to go off-topic.
Many who come here have found that we learn from each other. If you don’t understand something, please ask. Some are looking for answers, some for support in finding what I have found out to be true. None of us believe we know it all. My blog has become a nice place to learn from each other and some of us have found true fellowship and some friends. I intend to keep it that way.
Our God is loving and kind willing that all come to repentance. And once we find ourselves in error, we must repent and be restored. There is no other option. None of the false teachers will stand with us side by side on judgment day to pay the price for us. We will stand alone.
Thank you for your consideration. May our great God bless and keep each one of you. Keep learning!
