Is Obama Really the Problem?

I got this in my e-mail from Andrew Strom today and while I don’t agree with every word, I do believe he is making some good points, some I have considered lately myself.  While our fight is not political as Christians I believe it is good and right for us to fight for our freedom and to demand the truth from our officials.  However, there is a line to draw when it comes to gossip and lies and it is our responsibility to seek the truth in these issues.  A constant stream of bad news and scary topics will send us out of balance. God promised He would never leave us or forsake us! Not so long ago I was very angry at the things I was reading and hearing on the news. And some days I still get that way. So, this message is for me too!

Let us be careful that our emotions, namely FEAR does not rise up to become our driving force and defile our true purpose. We need to keep in mind that the things happening in America could be God’s plan AND just because we see things coming apart does not necessarily mean we are staring at the tribulation period!  The truth is we do not know the timing of these things. We have the clues, but no one knows the date!

At the very least, many of our freedoms as Americans and as Christians are being swept away because we did not do the work necessary to keep them intact!  Should we continue this fight, let’s do so with sober minds, taking our steps in order from the Lord and not return evil for evil, remembering to pray for those in office. They need Jesus too!

IS OBAMA REALLY the PROBLEM??

ARE WE BEING DISTRACTED From THE REAL FIGHT?

Years ago a friend of mine, Robert Holmes, saw a vision of Christians leaving the Harvest field to go and join in with a “Civil War”. They were leaving their primary mission (the gospel) to go and make war against their own countrymen. What does it mean and why would they do such a thing? -This was unclear.

Like a lot of you, every day I get bombarded with the latest emails against Obama – and what he is up to. I can truly understand this.  Unlike a lot of overseas Christians who can’t comprehend this kind of American political partisanship, I truly get it. I lived in America for four years, and one of the things I saw clearly while living there is that America is at WAR with itself. And it is getting worse. Right against left, liberal against conservative. And there is no doubt that as an evangelical Christian, I am truly a “conservative” myself. But there is a lot that troubles me about what is going on.

When the US conservatives elected Bush, a lot of the world could not understand it. I understood it completely. America is at war with itself and Bush seemed like the most robust campaigner against the liberal agenda. It did not matter that he was not the “smartest” guy. He was strongly on “our side” in the culture war – and that is what mattered: Homosexuality, abortion, taxes, health care, and so-on. To a lot of US Christians, politics has become THE main arena where they fight and take a stand. So if I am a conservative myself, why am I so troubled by a lot of this?

Well, let me ask you some questions and hopefully you will see why:

-Is “Politics” the arena that Christians are supposed to be putting so much time and energy into fighting? Is that what the early church did?
-Aren’t we supposed to be more passionate about prayer and the gospel than we are about pulling the “liberals” down?
-Couldn’t this be a total distraction from our real mission?
-Doesn’t a lot of it amount to a giant “smear” campaign of rumor- mongering that should be beneath Christians to participate in? -In other words, isn’t the way we are speaking often gossipy, slanderous, mocking and ungodly?
-Why are prayer and the gospel taking a backseat to Obama-baiting?
-Is the Christian community in any country supposed to become a “voting bloc” for one particular party?

I think those are pretty important questions. And I think a lot of Christians may have trouble answering them.

The fact is, I get more “political” anti-Obama emails from US Christians every day than ‘spiritual’ emails. What does this say about conservative Christians? It says they care more about politics than the gospel. That is the conclusion I have to come to. And I believe this is Idolatry – pure and simple. Politics has replaced the pure milk of the word for a lot of Christians. They are on a “campaign” alright, but it is not a campaign for Jesus. And they devote hours and hours to it. They are feverishly checking out the “latest dirt” on Obama every night and hungrily devouring Fox News (which makes more and more ratings dollars as it drives every fresh controversy).
They love it! There is only one problem: It is not Jesus, it is not the gospel, and a lot of it is simply not godly at all. In fact, it is replacing Jesus and replacing the gospel.

If I was the Republican Party or Fox News or Talk Radio (each hungry for more ratings and dollars – these are not Christian organizations at all) then I would absolutely LOVE the fact that the Christians are so easy to whip up into a frenzy of Obama-rumors and Obama-trash-talk. But none of this is godly, is it? It is not remotely Christian. The early church would have renounced it utterly. They took no interest in politics. They only cared about Jesus and His simple gospel. And that is still the only thing that can save America today. We are being sidetracked.

But the frenzy continues. “Did you hear the one about Obama being likened to Hitler?” ‘Did you hear the one about Obama’s birth certificate?’ ‘Did you hear the one about Obama’s “death panels”? ‘Did you hear that there are really demons in the Swine Flu vaccine?’ (canned laughter please).

A lot of this amounts to a kind-of Christian “smear” campaign. In politics much of it would be considered in the ‘dirty tricks’ category – the kind of thing you do when trying to ruin someone’s reputation with sick rumors and innuendo. No matter if it’s true or not. As long as it does the job of “smearing” the person. Is that the kind of thing Jesus would want us involved in?

Here is the truly major thing that I believe the devil is trying to do in America today:
-He is trying to create division so bitter and so extreme that both sides literally start to fight one another with guns drawn. He is trying to tear America apart.
-He is trying to sidetrack the one group that truly has the answer.
He is trying to wrap them up in fighting politics, so they will forget that the pure GOSPEL is the only real hope for America today.

I believe the devil is truly succeeding in both of the above aims.

To conclude this article, I would like to ask some questions of the Christians who spend so much time on this “Obama War”:

-Do you spend as much time spreading the pure gospel as you spend spreading stuff about Obama? Why not?
-Is your mind and your energy and your passion more focused on getting the true gospel out – or defeating Obama and the liberals in politics?
-If you were asked to turn off Fox News and delete the “Obama”
emails and turn off Talk Radio, etc, could you bear it? Or are you more-or-less an “addict”?
-Do you really think it is right for this to be the big focus of your life?

I truly believe these are huge issues and huge problems in the American church today. But I guess I can expect a wave of angry disagreement in response!

Americans Retaliate Against W.H. Snitcher-y Request

A few days ago I put up an article on the White House request that we turn in fellow Americans for “fishy” health care comments, which is a violation of our first amendment rights. Talk about political incorrectness! You would think the leader of the free world would know better, or maybe he is simply showing his true colors!

I was so steamed that I responded directly to the president, sending him a list of my own concerns and pointing out such a request is a no-no, which I later posted here.   Since then I have been busy e-mailing to the governor, senators and representatives AND the chairman of the GOP, forwarding them my letter to Obama, prefacing with an explanation.  Please, please take a few moments and do the same. Get your voice out there!

I have been hearing on the news that Americans all over are very upset over the health care issue, Obama’s lack of truthfulness, or as he put it “transparency”, and a complete lack of response from government officials who are required to give us straight-forward and truthful answers.  Some may have forgotten but the American government is answerable to it’s citizens.  Instead of providing us with answers we have been branded as trouble makers, some going as far to suggest the questioning is staged.  UNBELIEVABLE AND UNACCEPTABLE.  They do this to get us to shut up and to shut us out.  Don’t fall for it!

I am very happy to find that other Americans have the same view as I and have been making quite a noise!  This is what we need to continue to do. We put them in office by our vote, we pay their salaries by our tax money, that we work hard at our jobs to earn, therefore we need to hold them accountable maybe more now than ever.

The Center for American Law and Justice or ACLJ, sent a letter to President Obama today, warning, “This citizen reporting program raises significant First Amendment concerns.

An attorney for Red State noted that the White House’s actions may be in violation of current U.S. law:

“According to 5 U.S.C. § 552a, United States agencies including the Executive Office of the President shall, ‘maintain no record describing how any individual exercises rights guaranteed by the First Amendment unless expressly authorized by statute or by the individual about whom the record is maintained or unless pertinent to and within the scope of an authorized law enforcement activity.'”

Attorney Eric Erickson noted, “This will be the first significant time the White House has ignored the Privacy Act and may open President Obama up to litigation.” (emphasis mine)

As WND reported, Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, demanded that Obama either halt the program or define how he will protect the privacy of those who send or are the subject of e-mails to the White House.

“I am not aware of any precedent for a president asking American citizens to report their fellow citizens to the White house for pure political speech that is deemed ‘fishy’ or otherwise inimical to the White House’s political interests,” the Texas senator wrote in a letter to Obama.

“By requesting that citizens send ‘fishy’ e-mails to the White House, it is inevitable that the names, e-mail addresses, IP addresses, and private speech of U.S. citizens will be reported. … You should not be surprised that these actions taken by your White House staff raise the specter of a data collection system.”

Cornyn continued, “I urge you to cease this program immediately. At the very least, I request that you detail to Congress and the public the protocols that your White House is following to purge the names, e-mail addresses, IP addresses, and identities of citizens who are reported to have engaged in ‘fishy’ speech.” (emphasis mine)

Be encouraged, some out there are still looking out for the American people!

A Snitch’s Letter to Mr. Obama

This is a letter I submitted by way of e-mail to the White House. I plan to send many more to other officials.  I snitched on myself. haha

Dear Mr. Obama,

I will save my fellow Americans the trouble of bowing to a White House request for snitchery on those who speak or write against your health care reform.  I will do it for them as I have nothing to hide.

I am against this current health care bill because I do not believe it serves the best interests in the health or welfare of the American public.

I am against taxing an already overtaxed and underpaid society who is on the brink of complete financial ruin.

I am against a government imposed tax to those who do not selecthealth care, or for those who do not go along with the status quo, and for those small businesses who simply cannot afford to do what the rich government thinks it should. Employer- provided medical benefits is an option – and a great one – a benefit, not a requirement of law.  We believe in and support free enterprise.

I am against any kind of assisted suicide, whether of, or by the elderly or of the unborn regardless of the fancy wording and reasoning attached to it.

I am against providing illegal aliens with free heath care who should not be on our soil to begin with.

I am against a plan that will allow the government the choice of whether or not I receive medical treatment, prescription meds and whether or not  I live or die based on my age, medical condition and prognosis.

I am against any government plan to take away freedom and the right of life in whatever form it comes as these things were given freely by God Almighty, not man or government.

There is more, but this will suffice for now.

What is the motivation behind your plea for snitchery?  What will you plan to do with this information once it is obtained?  Do you realize what you request is a violation of our right to speech, right to privacy and our right to protest and to ask questions of our government officials?

We have and will continue to fight against any move of government that is considered to be wrong in whatever form it comes knowing that we will be branded as conspiracy theorists, the uniformed, crazy with too much time on our hands, and so on.

The current administration, regardless of its beliefs does not have the option to impede on our freedom.

The Senate should not be persuaded to vote on this bill until it has been fully read, reviewed, discussed and argued – and most importantly made public for all eyes to see. You expect us to pay, we want to see the product beforehand. You promised transparency, so where is it?

Listen, save your fellow Americans the hassle of snitching on you. Call the White House, write letters, send faxes and e-mails to Obama, your senators, governors, representatives, etc. It is our right and privilege granted by our Constitution as Americans to question ALL of our leaders and to hold them responsible for every decision they make and for each law they propose. It is their responsibility to provide truthful answers to our questions without branding Americans as conspiracy theorists, crazy or disinformed.

This administration who claimed “transparency” is instead shrouded in darkness!

This “request” by the White House is against our freedom of speech at the most intimate level, our communication with each other, our family and our friends!  Think about it!  What does that say to you??  What will they do with the information once they receive it?

I am against Obama’s health care reform proposal they way it stands.  Snitch away, I don’t care, as I plan on writing many letters on my own alleviating the need for snitching!

I am against the government making decisions about my health, based on my age, my lifestyle, condition and medical prognosis.

I am against the government paying for abortions.

I am against the government counseling the aged to “die with dignity”  no matter what wording gets slapped on to it.

I am against the government providing illegal aliens with health care that they do not have to pay for.  (Illegal aliens shouldn’t be allowed here, but that’s another topic.)

I am against anyone making a decision based on life and freedom that was given freely to us all by God Almighty -period.

There is no conspiracy in what I and many, many other people are screaming about here. We do not like it. We are not going for it!

Why pay for a product we do not want??? As consumers, whenever we purchase a product we expect that the product to perform according to the claims. In purchasing health care, either through the government or private carrier, whether the money comes from payroll deductions or from paying taxes we would expect the health care to be sane, fair and reasonable, holding the health, safety and welfare of all Americans in high esteem. Health care is a product.

When a product breaks down, we send it back.

Obama’s health care reform is broken, send it back.

It’s gettin’ scary out there guys!

Obama Kenyan Borne?

What is the big secret?  No other US citizen would be able to do anything without proof of citizenship. Would we? I am amazed that this “minor” detail escaped the eyes of those who should have been watching and asking these questions from the beginning. If he cannot meet the citizenship requirements outlined in the US Constitution, he needs to be removed from his position. It is as simple as that.

WASHINGTON – California attorney Orly Taitz, who has filed a number of lawsuits demanding proof of Barack Obama’s eligibility to serve as president, has released a copy of what purports to be a Kenyan certification of birth and has filed a new motion in U.S. district court for its authentication.

The document lists Obama’s parents as Barack Hussein Obama and Stanley Ann Obama, formerly Stanley Ann Dunham, the birth date as Aug. 4, 1961, and the hospital of birth as Coast General Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya.

Healthcare Reform – Val Lee

Wow.  I just popped into to Val Lee’s Weblog and found the following article:

I knew this so called health care reform was bad and I could barely read through all of her article.  I am shocked and sickened  that this is nothing more than a way to eliminate “unwanted” people and make the government lots of money gaining complete control over our lives and the lives of our families and children.  This is not what America is about!

This is what we have come to. This is what has been cooking on the back burner  while we have been hard at work at our jobs, taking care of our families, doing the right things, paying taxes and being good citizens and voting for those “like minded Americans” in office who should have our best interests at heart.  They do not have our best interests at heart at all and here is the truth!  I keep thinking  this cannot be true, but, it is true.  And something tells me this has gone too far to turn it back, stalled in the Senate or not.  This is not something out of Obama’s back pocket.  It has taken more than one man to do this much damage and to push this thing as far as it has gone.

We are talking more than health care here.  We are talking about government controlled people who no longer will have a say in anything they do.  It may start with the health issue, but it will not end there.  How can it when the government will decide who dies and when? It will not end until the government owns every one of us and makes all of our decisions – who we are, where we live and work, and where our money goes, and what we can and can’t believe in or worship. Everything we have come to enjoy in America in our freedom and liberty, everything that has been worked for in legislature, those who have given their lives for our freedom, on and on for generations –  it will be over very soon, all of that work will be nothing but history and probably will be erased from the history school books.

I hope I am wrong. But, I think we are in for it.

You must watch this video from reclaimoklahoma!!!  Christians arrested, held and charged with felonies in Pittsburgh, PA for speaking against homosexuality during a rally!!!

 It is the hate crime/speech mess in action!!  I didn’t know they were actually doing this, but they are, and to 70 year old grandmothers!!!!!  The charges are way harsh, more than most true blue criminals deserve or receive.

  What have we become as a nation, and should we just let these people live the lies of the enemy and end up in hell because of their ignorance to the word, to the saving grace of Jesus Christ???

This is harsh and severe and meant to shut us up from speaking the truth!!!

An amendment to a bill swiftly moving through the US Congress will allow the Obama Administration’s Attorney General to classify Americans as domestic terrorists if they are pro-life, pro-gun and anti-big government.

Alcee Hastings introduced what some claim is a disturbing piece of legislation. Hasting’s amendment calls for the Attorney General to have discretion over who is called a terrorist and what groups will be treated as terrorist groups.

Hastings is a dangerous man and should be forced to resign from congress. He’s also proposed the creation of “emergency camps” that are nothing more than prisons,” warns political strategist Mike Baker.

“Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly anti-government, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.”

When the ultra-liberal Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi nominated Hastings for the chairmanship of the House Intelligence Committee, even members of her own political party balked.

Rep. Alcee Hastings also introduced what many say is another disturbing piece of legislation. That new bill calls for the Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano to build at least six facilities that can be designated as “emergency centers. Hastings rationale for such facilities is to gather and “house” civilians on what are basically detention centers guarded by armed soldiers or paramilitary troops.

While Hastings did not become chairman of that committee, he is a ranking member of the Homeland Security Subcommittee.
