Over the years of researching, discussions with other believers, and personal spiritual experiences I’ve realized there may be times that we can become desperate for the presence of God. Our desperation can cause us to become vulnerable, and open teachings and practices that sound good to us in the beginning but are not grounded in His word.
We earnestly desire to hear from the Lord and search out places and other people known for their ability to hear from Him on our behalf. We forget the Holy Spirit indwells in each one of us, as believers, the one Christ said would come after His departure.
If we find ourselves in desperate need, let it be that we fall to the feet of our Lord and Messiah who loves us, and who died for us, rather than fall into the trap of one who would cause us grave harm. He promised He would never leave or forsake us.
John 14:15 If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
