Washington (CNN) — A Kansas church known for its angry, anti-gay protests at funerals of U.S. troops won an appeal Wednesday at the Supreme Court in a case testing the competing constitutional rights of free speech and privacy.

In an 8-1 ruling, the justices said that members of Westboro Baptist Church had a right to promote what they call a broad-based message on public matters such as wars. The father of a fallen Marine had sued the small church, saying those protests amounted to targeted harassment and an intentional infliction of emotional distress.

“Speech is powerful. It can stir people to action, move them to tears of both joy and sorrow, and — as it did here — inflict great pain. On the facts before us, we cannot react to that pain by punishing the speaker,” Chief Justice John Roberts wrote for the majority.

At issue was a delicate test between the privacy rights of grieving families and the free speech rights of demonstrators, however disturbing and provocative their message. Several states have attempted to impose specific limits on when and where the church members can protest.

The church, led by pastor Fred Phelps, believes God is punishing the United States for “the sin of homosexuality” through events including soldiers’ deaths. Members have traveled the country shouting at grieving families at funerals and displaying such signs as “Thank God for dead soldiers,” “God blew up the troops” and “AIDS cures fags.”

People, people I cannot believe our government has approved such atrocious and evil behavior! I cannot imagine having to endure this at my child’s funeral. What have we become?? This is NOT Christianity, this is NOT what the first amendment is about – this is not even human! A funeral is not a place of protest!

How is it that pastors who rightfully and lovingly warn against the sin of homosexuality and its consequences in their churches are being silenced, yet this obviously outright hate speech is allowed to take place? I thought we honored fallen soldiers for selflessly giving their lives for our freedom! Some freedom!

God is not killing these soldiers, bullets are killing them. America, and it’s war-mongering and its need to control the world is what is taking the lives of our young men and women. It is not the work of our Father God! Fred Phelps and his followers do not represent Him. They represent a god of their understanding, one who is as vengeful and as hate-filled as they are – someone or some thing who is no god at all.

If God is judging gay military personnel by killing them, then what will He do with those who come in His name and misrepresent Him to the world? We are all sinners and we are all in need of repentance every day.

My heart goes out to the family members of the fallen soldiers who have endured such senseless cruelty. Sadly, we will see more of it as the meaning of our constitution is broadened by representatives who have no backbone to stand for the truth.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:16-17

Many successful inmates go on to become yoga instructors

Prisoners in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh are being freed early if they complete yoga courses.

For every three months spent practising posture, balance and breathing the inmates can cut their jail time by 15 days.

The authorities say the lessons help to improve the prisoners’ self-control and reduce aggression.

Some 4,000 inmates across the state are benefiting from the scheme, and many go on to become yoga instructors.

‘Angry thoughts’

The state’s inspector general of prisons, Sanjay Mane, said: “Yoga is good for maintaining fitness, calming the behaviour, controlling anger and reducing stress.

“When a prisoner attends yoga sessions and fulfils some other conditions, he will be considered for a remission if his jail superintendent recommends his case.”

Prisoners can also gain credit for attending adult literacy courses or studying for degrees.

An inmate at Gwalior central jail, Narayan Sharma – who has now moved on to become an instructor – says it helps to banish the “angry thoughts” in his mind.

“It was these thoughts that made me commit crimes,” he said.

“I hope that after we are released, we can use what we have learned and promote yoga in society so that people no longer commit crime.”

Notice the last statement – think it’s true? I’m sure God does not agree.  Yoga is the practice of the Hindu and Buddhist religions. It is not exercise, or something to make a person feel better or think nicer thoughts. It is practiced and sold as such, but there is a much deeper spiritual meaning. Isn’t there always? And by “spiritual”, Christianity is EXCLUDED!

How about Yoga for Incarcerated Youth?

Workshops are about teaching YOUTH who are at risk – we have hatha, vinyassa, bickram instructors as well as kundalini.

Would it be sarcastic to say that not only do parents need to be aware of what their kids are taught in school, but also in jail…?

Freedom to Worship Allah

Anyone continuing to believe this is a religion of peace, as George Bush told us shortly after 9/11,  needs to wake up. We see the evidence of it’s death and destruction here in America even as we see it on their own land. We have allowed this religion to come onto our country, and because of the twist in the true meaning of our constitution in regards to freedom of religion, we allowed them to practice their maniacal beliefs. Now, here we are seeing its effects in the murder of our own people!

I seriously doubt this is anywhere near what the constitution means when it speaks of freedom, the right to bear arms and the freedom to worship. But, we have sat by in silence as we have watched time and again when the true meaning of those words erased by those governing in high places whose job it is to uphold the constitution, not to interpret it according their beliefs.

Al Khattab insists that his hatred is protected by the First Amendment. “If it was a threat, I’d be in jail,” the 41-year-old al-Khattab told FoxNews.com in October.  (emphasis mine)

Judge Andrew Napolitano, Fox News’ senior legal analyst said the posting is “absolutely protected” by the First Amendment.

“All innocuous speech is absolutely protected and all speech is innocuous when there is time for more speech to rebut or address it,” he told Foxnews.com. “So even if this Web site were to call on Muslim freedom fighters to kill Jews, as long as there is time for someone else to challenge this with words, then the originals words are lawful.” (emphasis mine)

What kind of madness, or better yet – evil – are we dealing with here when statements such as this are explained away as protected by our own constitution which was originally put into place to protect Americans? What about protection from enemies foreign and domestic? What about our friends and ally – Israel?  This coming from the same think tank that would condemn Christians from speaking the truth according to the teachings of the one true God – Jehovah- and classifying those teachings as “hate crimes”.  This is madness.

Maybe I have missed it, but I have yet to hear much of anything from President Obama, who commended Muslims for their “contributions” to this country during Ramadan, but seems to have very little to say about a massacre against people comprising his army of which he is Commander and Chief.  Those very soldiers who died at the hands of a maniac in the name of Allah while making preparations to carry out his command of deployment.

Those set in place to guard America have failed!

Video – Hate Speech Crime in Action

You must watch this video from reclaimoklahoma!!!  Christians arrested, held and charged with felonies in Pittsburgh, PA for speaking against homosexuality during a rally!!!

 It is the hate crime/speech mess in action!!  I didn’t know they were actually doing this, but they are, and to 70 year old grandmothers!!!!!  The charges are way harsh, more than most true blue criminals deserve or receive.

  What have we become as a nation, and should we just let these people live the lies of the enemy and end up in hell because of their ignorance to the word, to the saving grace of Jesus Christ???

This is harsh and severe and meant to shut us up from speaking the truth!!!
